Instant Whatsapp?

Just how "instant" is this instant messaging platform these days? Me and my immediate family and friends are all experiencing massive delays. As bad as receiving a message the following day only.

WeChat is also kicking of with a bang in SA the same as Whatsapp in the past. Does this mean they will end up just as bad as Whatsapp has?

I have been having the same issues as well. I thought it was just me.

As long as your internet connection is fine I've never had any delays on whatsapp.

On my Nexus 4 with PA or CM, I have delays. I am certain its because the wifi goes into deep sleep....
