I installed the Kwikot 30l unit, supplying a shower and washbasin. Works like a dream, plenty of water for a lazy shower. Easy to install, no plumber or electrician required.

that's what it says on the device, it may be overkill in your opinion, but that's what they went with and I'm very happy with it

Stayed at an AirBnB in Malaysia last year. The shower also had a water heater like that. Wish I knew how it worked cause I was taking cold showers for a week - which was okay considering it was like 40c everyday.

There are single phase units available. Generally suitable for one point where hot water is required. Stiebel Eltron comes to mind. Works off a normal 16A socket.

I use a under the sink unit, connected to the hot water line from the main geyser. Eliminates the water wastage when drawing water for washing dishes. heats up the water in the pipes. Set for 60 degrees C. works perfectly well.

The unit is suitable for incoming water above 20 degree C. Small 3.5 kW element. Only switches on until the water drawn from the geysers comes into the unit above 60 degree C.
