Intel’s graphics card expected 2010

sorry but after the carp they been dishing out with their integrated graphics on laptops they can shove this right up their larabee's

We will wait and see! There is no guarantee of these performance numbers so 2010 will tell if it is worthwhile.

I will be due for an upgrade then.

Well , someone needs to give nvidia a run for their money while ATI rolls around in the dust choking themself. So bring on some competition biatches!

They won't be using the same driver team for Larrabee.

Are you clinically insane? The 4000 series is better than nvidia gpus by a long shot if price/performance is taken ibnto account. at launch a 280gtx was only around 15% faster than a 4870 and cost almost 2.5 times as much. say what you want, but amd really has been a lot better since the 3000 series and they will only get better.

as far as larrabee is concerned - if it does well and pushes opengl then i support it wholeheartedly. we need to get away from directx and ms. then linux gaming can come to the fore and linux might start looking like a decent first choice os (as far as work is concenred, its already purrfect) :)

Finally someone that talks sense. I'm sure moLe is a kid...with no frikken clue. ;)

You do know that at the moment ati is murdering nvidia right?

Yup, nVdia's shares have dropped and ATi's/AMD's have gone up by 40%.

Regardless of whos beating who in the market, more competition will be good. They may start out slow, but im sure Intel will package a complete cpu/gpu solution that can rival current platforms...

This can only be good.

" 60fps in Gears of War at 1600x1200 without anti-aliasing"

This is current. Ive got a bad feeling. In 2 years time Nvidia and Ati will have GPU's that run GOW at that resolution @ 500FPS.

Naw I think its crap. AMD's fusion is coming in 2010 aswell.

The only good thing if the graphics card can work more like CPU's, addressing as many treads as possible and get away from the APi as it is currently. Then games can be written in whatever language.

yes its current and maybe not such a bad accomplishment, seeing its the first of its kind ever...
2 years should be enough for them to pack a punch that might knock ATI and NVIDIA back a bit - you cant bring out new tech and expect it to be the best off the bat - give them some time, their CPUs are the best are they not? im sure they can do the same with GFX

This is very old news...

And btw Nvidia's 260 competes with the 4870 1GB version.

Sorry but it's only in this ****hole that Nvidia is more expensive than ATI. so that price vs. performance thing is a non issue.

hmmm... I think intel might be jumping into untested waters here...
I mean, so you really think AMD is gonna want intel to start taking away there most profitable sector? Do you think Nvidia wants to share the market with another company while they've been trying to fight off ATI/AMD for years and years?

No... honestly, I reckon Nvidia and AMD are gonna want to cook up something that will be truly powerful just to keep intel out the picture...

However, intel is a massive company, and they might have the time and resources to keep coming back at amd and nvidia until they mess up

but the question is, do we want intel to dominate this sector too? we've seen what happens when one company has a superior product(stagnation of development, eg: nvidia with the 8000 and 9000 series)

well... it could be a real nice kick in the teeth for AMD, if Nvidia & Intel had to partner! :)
