Intel abandons Larrabee project

Considering my reply was #%@$# lost in a repost, I'll make it short. From the comments you stated in this thread, you don't.

Hence my link to the other thread where I explain everything there is to know about intel.

Erm, this is intel admitting to what I wrote in the other thread http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Hardware/10419.html
You have an opinion on AMD and Intel.. but that doesn't mean you have ANY idea what you're talking about when it comes to Larrabee.
No, you are right, I know very little of Larrabee - I'll grant you that. What I do know is intel's reputation, track record and settlement payments - and that is a lot to go by on.

No, that article is just Intel saying they've engaged in business practices that any large corporation would have, to increase their own market share and limit their competitors... AMD would have done EXACTLY the same thing if they were in Intels position. That article has nothing to do with the historical inaccuracies you peddle in your little "I wish I could shag AMD thread"

As for Intels "reputation", how does that have ANY bearing on the reasons Larrabee has been put on ice?

My theory is simple. Historically intel has done many shady things (see settlement case) they have also copied/followed a lot of things that AMD did. Thus, them delaying some aspects of Larrabee COULD mean that they first want to see how Fusion pans out BEFORE they make a GPU and BEFORE they put that GPU inside a CPU.

It's a theory - not a fact. Deal with it. A fact would be that I rulz more than you do.

AMD would have done and probably have done just as many shady things.

What about everything that AMD have copied from Intel?.. do you just ignore that?

No, they have delayed Larrabee because the hardware/software combo wouldn't be anywhere nearly as competitive at release point as they wanted due to issue with the hardware which would have delayed the software stack development and led to an immature software stack.

No, a fact would be that you're a blinded AMD fanboi who can't see past that.

What about everything that AMD have copied from Intel?.. do you just ignore that?

Intel was required by contract to have a second source for the x86 architecture way back when they started out making the PC for IBM.

If you read the long story I wrote you will see that I do acknowledge quite a few things intel did right. And I will also buy a Cyrix/VIA chip any day instead of an AMD.
