Interesting system, iBurst system...

I found something strange about iBurst system recently.

My friend signed up for iBurst... Brought modem (desktop "new", as mine) to my home to set-up connection... Everything was fine until we came to speedtest.net...

We positioned modem at 1m from ground inside building, without external aerial, without losing connection. And found... Speeds are 690/190kbits during day! While on the other hand, my speeds were 204/68kbits from a modem connected by external aerial 5m above ground! Then we tried to put my modem on same spot as friend's modem was, disconnected from aerial. Same speeds as connected to aerial and was losing connection all time.

Modems had different numbers and letters under UT (not UTID). The numbers were larger than on my modem.

Few days later, friend's modem stopped working. Then it was replaced by another one. Tested again with same conditions... Speed were similar as before (680/250kbits), but my modem had same slowness (under 200kbits) in that spot! UT numbers on modem were less than on mine...

We used same computer and settings for both modems.

Try upgrading the firmware on your device. I had a similar problem, and once the firmware was upgraded, I got better speeds and a more consistent and stable connection..

If you bring you modem in the advanced support guys can test and replace if required.
