HI Guys,

I really need some help please. I live in Bedfordview and have TTConnect as my last mile provider with Afrihost as my ISP. Since I moved in (6th September) I've been having intermittent connectivity issues. It comes on for a few minutes then off for anything from 15 mins to a few hours. Some days its off the entire day. I've logged WhatsApp calls each day, even called the support desk and many emails, however nobody seems to know what the issue is. I've spoken to easily over 50 people at Afrihost and support is pretty much the same by doing the same things over and over. I even got the TTconnect guys to come and have a look. They tested my line and said the issue is with Afrihost as they have changed the port of my line in their server room. I've done the following many many times but no help.

* Reset router as well as disable IPV6. Hard reset my router where Afrihost even unmapped and remapped again many times.
* Bypassed the router and connected directly to the ONT. Same issue where there is connectivity for a few mins then off again.
* Done multiple Ping, TraceRT , IPConfig, Inconfig renew and release as well as sent them all the screenshots as directed by the agents many times.

The lights on my router stay on, as well as my ONT box. Only the Lan light flashes on the ONT. It shows I'm connected to the network however there is no internet connection. Even on my phone. Is there anyway around this as I work from home as well as my entire household needing an internet connection and this is really a big problem for me. I cant run a SpeedTest because of no connection.

Has anyone else experienced this and will changing ISP's help? I've tried everything that i possibly can and the support team tells me to do the same thing over and over again which is extremely frustrating. I have asked many times to escalate and get a supervisor or manager call me and up until today, its just the support team that replies and asks me to do the same thing over again. I've also been told it is the load shedding, but my house is mostly off-grid as I run an inverter.

Please help!!

Post the screenshots and we'll all have a look. MyBB has the best crowd sourced photo analysis gig in town. Ask Andre de Ruyter.

We are unfortunately constantly battling with multi and unicast flooding on the vlan. From a L2 perspective the equipment does not support DHCP security measure like DHCP Snooping and Mac force forwarding to circumvent this.

Our system engineer wrote a scrip that is hosted close to the NNI to mitigate the unicast flooding and it is working to a certain extent but not completely successful.

There is also an issue where IPv6 Neighbor solicitation floods the vlan with packets after each loadshedding slot. We narrowed it down to Tenda routers.

The alternative we are working on is PPPoE.

A general fault is when you local network has failed.

The rest are all DNS related.
When this occurs can you ping 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8???

Also post ipconfig.
Whenever I try to ping 1.1.1.1 it doesn’t do anything.

Please see attached ipconfig

Can you check if you get an IP using ipconfig /all and if so ping the 2 ips above.
Please see attached screenshot of ipconfig /all and I tried pinging 1.1.1.1

I get the same when pinging 8.8.8.8

You are still connected to the router. Try disconnecting the wifi when connecting directly to the ONT.
I’ve disconnected from the router, switched my router and mesh systems off.

This is the screenshot of laptop directly to ONT with ipconfig /all.

Second pic is the ping
