Intermittent Fasting

Not going to lie. Struggling now.

One can only drink so much water.

Pretty sure, like when I first started 16:8 and later 18:6, that it becomes easier the more you do it. But I can't see myself pushing for a 48hr again.
Wont it help to have some pure fats inbetween.
That's the whole point of ketosis right.

I'm sure it might help to keep some of the stomach grumbling away a bit but I literally have nothing at the office. Decided I'll try it so will just have to power through it now.
I am not struggling at all with energy or lethargy. Just an abundance of hunger signals at this stage.

Luckily dinner was already pre-planned and is pretty much a fat bomb.

So your last meal was on Sunday night?
That does take some doing

Well done.

Nice Apoc. So did you last and how was the breaking?

I did. I did!!

Strangely enough after my workout I felt like I could go another few hours. But I decided against it.

And as expected with IF. I could barely finish my meal last night.

Feeling great this morning but jumping back on the 18:6 routine. So salad is packed for late this afternoon.

Well, is this about ketosis or about IF ? I would think if it's simply IF then no intake is better.

Why have you modified it to 18:6 instead of 16:8 ? All the research seems to indicate that 16hrs is the sweetspot. I find that if I go beyond 16hrs then my caloric intake is generally higher (I'm more hangry) when I do break the fast.

Simply because it works easier for me with my workouts scheduled about 3 hours after breaking my fast. When I break my fast earlier I find that I am hungry again before my workout and that I also lack the intensity.

Simply played around for weeks on end with different IF schedules and made notes of everything and then compared it with my workout logs.

You just have to find what works for you. And 18:6 is my sweet spot.

Say someone wants to lose a bit of weight but they only remove breakfast, which is 3 boiled eggs and coffee, will it work or are they skipping too little to make a difference?

You will lose as long as you stick to your eating window and not eating bad things for lunch + dinner.

Its all about the Fed vs Fasting state.
Lets say you do 16:8, fasting state for 16 hours, fed for 8. The norm is 12:00pm to 8pm.
As long as you consume 0 calories in your fasting state you will be okay (no breakfast, no milk, no sugar, no mints, nothing)
The longer you stay in a fasted state, the more fat you'll burn.

If you snack till 10pm, you will reduce you fasting time, thus reducing results.
If you consume calories in the morning, you will immediately be OUT of your fasting state, back to burning glycogen, not fat.

Im currently doing about a 20-4 , 23-1 IF/OMAD on weekdays, normal eating on weekends. Really easy once your body adjusts to it. Lost 5kg in my 1st month, quite happy.

Why not? The infusions should not have any sugars?
Ahhh I just re watched the vid, Americans... where this infusion actually contains pieces of fruit in your tea which then releases fructose. Woops Nevermind

Something to watch out for... but not something I've had issues with myself.
