They make comments about the drops and further drops but they still charge R289 a Gig (and R1.20 a MB Out of budle?)At the recent MyBroadband Conference Sameer Dave, CTO at MTN SA, said that they expect further international bandwidth price cuts of between 15% and 20%
This guy is full of it. Telkoms ADSL prices haven't dropped for at least the last 3 years. Line rentals have also increased. It used to be about R100 for an phone line and about R130 for the 384kbps ADSL line. Now it's R130ish and R150ish respectively. Telkoms shouldn't be getting any good publicity at all. Those Telkom ads on TV just make me sick.
No one says when these price cuts are gonna be here! SEACOM has been up for nearly 5 months now and I haven't seen any changes to my ISPs prices. When are all the local ISPs gonna reduce their prices? Im with Cybersmart btw...
Yet we haven't seen any significant decreases, i.e they used the savings to line pockets.international bandwidth prices have already declined by 90% since SAT-3 became operational in 2002
