International nearly dead

I'm getting next to Zero on international - Mweb Uncapped. You say WA is running fine, Mr Hoxbig? Thinking of renewing my WA service for times like these.

Mweb uncapped 384, everything seems back for me, getting my max speed with direct downloads.

uhm yes Seacon is dead, but you're looking at graphs that have nothing to do with that, so yea they will look odd!

to check seacom, this is the graph to look at:

Mweb uncapped and plugg (IS)

speed is horrific - takes forever to download a 2 meg file - don't even bother with youtube HD.

I don't even believe there IS a Seacom - it's just a cover story so when ISP's give bad service they can say: "oh no no, its not us... its that damn Seacom"

Been having shocking speeds on gmail and youtube for the last few days. Was offline for 3 days so have no idea if that was the cause.

International surfing is frustrating @ moment on Mweb Uncapped.

Seacom is @ fault according to the Network Status on AH and Mweb.

Both these ISP's use IS backbone and IS has not purchased or implemented a redundant routing option to the other 4 undersea cable systems!

This is ridiculous if you ask me

PS. Hi Wayne! Thanks for the t-shirt and cap ;)

SEACOM Outage

Hi All,

We have had confirmation that SEACOM is currently offline and will be for a good few days, due to a failure in the TE-NORTH cable (by their emails, read, undersea fault). According to their communications it will take approximately a week to repair once permits are granted, which are expected to take 5 days. I.E SEACOM will be offline for possibly 10 days or more.

From the TENET perspective, we have DR bandwidth which so far is handling fine, though I suspect there will be many ISP's suffering rather badly during this period.

Thanks

Andrew

My international on Telkom is working perfectly as usual :D
