International Speeds?

Just spoke to the guys from axxess ... they said that the international is screwed in JHB and CT area and telscum is suppose to fix it before 22-23h tonight ... how nice
 
Same problem here, torrent all dead, google and international surfing is fine, but it seems some certain international site just unable to access.

My friend using UUNet is working fine at the moment, so SAIX seems to have problem on some of the international connection ?

Got radio paradise hauling ass - not a glitch for the last 2 hours - heck, it never has a problem lately.

I've just learnt to be patient with p2p stuff and let it trickle down over days.
Recently d/l'd some obscure 1.3gig file (operating system related to tigers) that took me 12 days to download. I was rather p1ssed off when I found that the rar archive was corrupt ... :D

If only there was some gateway application that masqueraded as HTTP traffic via an overseas hosting (cheap) account - initialise a p2p torrent download onto the server itself and stream it down from the server as HTTP...

hmmmm... that's got me thinking ...

hasn't this link gone down on numerous occasions before? if they fix it, at least stay fixed! it's not like we're getting bargain prices for our adsl
 
Can not get my mail from US server hosted at GoDaddy.com nor log on to my GoDaddy account to buy some more domains. Very frustrating. Hope it is fixed soon.

EDIT: Can not run FireFox update either. :mad:

Amen to that..... Telkom are making a forture out of ADSL.
They would not last a month in business in Europe or the USA.
 
ADSL is usually quite reliable, but when it isn't working right it's quite annoying since you pay about the the same price that would pay for a small car or a nice new motorbike per month.

Fix it Telkom, else we bring the pitchforks and torches .
 
Amazing almost 11pm now. A fault was logged at 6pm and it still isnt resolved. Must be a serious problem.

Pity there is no guarantee on adsl internet connectivity. We could all demand refunds if that were the case. :(

Legal Eagles - surely we have a case whether guaranteed or not?

I mean if I buy something ("broadband" access), surely I can expect to get at least what I pay for?

Do Telscum actually say something like "no guarantee that the service will in fact be anything like what you expect"?

I smell a lawsuit somewhere here.

i think they do, thats why its not the same price as leased lines that have sla's
 
I seem to recall reading somewhere that they had no guarantee. I will look again and make 100% sure. However one generally expects to get what you pay for.

Imagine you doing a half job and expecting your boss to pay you the same amount...
