I am on Vodacom Internet access contract for three months now at 600 MB. So far I am using over my 600 MB per month but as long as I pay for it. My problem is when I get somewhere over 1,500 MB then Vodacom block my Internet access. Is this normal?

I hate the pain to get to my nearest Vodacom outlet and have my account unblocked. Beside that I have to explain over and over again to have those stupid guys to unblock my account. I really do not want to do this every month seeing stupid guys at Vodacom.

Does that happen to any of you and what is the suggestion?

thks

Migrate you contract to a bigger bundle , that way you won't exceed and have spend extra cash.

+1

Besides that, whenever I have been involved in a new contract you are always told there is a spend limit for the first 3 months which will lock your account when you hit it.

I'd really like to see what tune you sing when your spend limit is lifted and you clock up a R20k bill.

Isn't this the Mandatory Limit Lock for the 1st 3 months of a new contract?

Hi ocleroux , what number do u need from me to check, thks

My account this month is 1852.45. I think this is costly. As I am on 600mb for R249.00 pm and uses much more than 600mb. I see that 2 GB is about what I need for the month. I do not know what other option is there when my 600MB is up. At the moment I do not want an ASL line yet as I might move soon.
Can a person upgrade so soon with Vodacom? What about Data Bundle you buy from shops and load it on the laptop? Will it work out cheaper?

Thks for helping!

Why didn't you go for the Top-Up option?

When you run out of the 600Meg you could just add more as you need it. Thus cutting out those big OOB bills.

Hi BigJohn. I need the cell number that is being used in your modem. What I can do is check your average data usage and then recommend a higher bundle of a suitable size. Or like Iam3G suggested, a top up package.

Hi ocleroux , my number for that modem is 07xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Iam3G, Is there a web page I can check on this Top up options.

Thks guys.

Hi BigJohn. See your break down below.

June - 1,850.523 MB
May - 1,698.527 MB
APRIL - 1,276.622 MB

AVERAGE OF 1.6GIG PER MONTH OVER 3 MONTHS.

Consider the following:
MYGIG 1.2 @ R349 PER MONTH
MYGIG 2.3 @ R449 PER MONTH

Hi ocleroux , thks....hmmm this is good but I do not know if Vodacom will allow me to upgrade!

************* 36V - MyMeg 600- 36 Months 3S1 - TopUp Data-MyGig 1.2 - 36 Mths 0.00 2010-07-31

You are very welcome. Remember, if you go for the Top Up MyGig, then once your data is finished, you wont be able to use your modem untill such time that you recharged your account with airtime again hey.

Hi morkhans, yes I took the laptop deal with Vodacom...actually a BIG mistake. In the end it costs much more. Don't do it unless you want to waste money. I wish my 36 months is over and I still have a long way to go. I feel slike kicking myself in the butt.

Cheers
