Internet Explorer 11 vs Firefox 53?

I currently use Firefox 53, i.e. the latest version. There's a share trading website that I usually use and they make use of Java. Firefox has discontinued the use of Java plugins, which means for me to be able to use the share trading website again, I must use Internet Explorer as it still supports Java plugins.

My question is simple, is Internet Explorer still safe? I've heard of many stories of people saying Internet Explorer has bugs or allows viruses to penetrate one's computer and things like that.

Are you using Win 10? IE 11 is still fully supported as far as I know.

I use IE 11 for the same reason. I assume you have been onto the share trading website to do something about their site as well? I have not been successful in getting them to realise how quickly they are being left behind by not sorting their site out but to no avail so far.

I am using Win 10 yes. I spoke to a guy from their IT department and asked him what will they do if IE decides to also not support Java plugins. He responded by saying they are working on revamping their website, which will allow Firefox to be used again. I also made a point to tell him that I am considering moving my business to another company since they're still way behind. I think I'll use IE 11 for now.

Ja I got that same answer more than a year ago. They do not seem to be very interested in eliminating the need for Java plug ins to be able to plot the graphs.

I use IE 11 at the moment on their website.

This is completely garbage, I mean the stories. No earthly idea from where you've heard such stories. I've been using Internet Explorer since I first started using computer. Though I'm not using the latest Internet Explorer, but I think it's absolutely safe.

:wtf:
