Interstellar

Meh - don't know if its "major". One thing I noticed is that when time was going forward, I recollect that the "interstellar" handshake was handled with an almost religious tone whereas once you see behind the 'curtain' and the mystery explained, its religiousness fell by the wayside.

Certain religious friends enjoyed the movie as if it reinforced faith in a higher being - whereas it was actually a complete put-down.

Just found this interesting reading on point --> http://www.reddit.com/r/interstella...erstellar_analysis_christian_symbolsimthemes/

Or it could be The Matrix. Cooper is Neo or "The One" that saves humanity. Murph is Trinity and Morphues the black dude. The Tesseract is the Matrix?

:D: eek:

Watched it yesterday, great movie, had no idea what it was about and didn’t see any trailers.

Actually got real teared up at that one scene near the end.

After watching 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) on Sunday Interstellar and Gravity felt like copies. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) was truly ahead of its time.

Yeah I found it quite sad that he missed his kids whole lives. He didn't age at all and then returned to find his daughter on her death bed.

I thought it was an average movie but I saw a dvd quality screener a month or two ago. Will check the 1080p tonight. Didn't really notice the soundtrack last time.

Darren actually said he made the voice track soft because dialog is not important. I hate this, if I can't hear the dialog then I can't watch

Any particular reason?

So many reasons. I'll leave you with a couple as it's late and I'm off to bed:

So. Much. Exposition. And. Handholding. Never expected this from a Nolan movie, he usually trusts his audience not to be morons.

Lazy direction. He kept showing the one thing I didn't want to see. I know the side of the spaceship like the back of my hand now.

Only gravity and love can travel through time and space. Gravity and love. Love.

Love.*

The robots and some of the visuals were awesome though.

*I get what this was inferring, but ****ing seriously. Love.

Watched it at the Imax. Sound was fine. Could hear everything they were saying. And the soundtrack was earthshattering. And for +-R50 it's not bad
