iOS 16 Features by Model

It seems that the idea for Apple going forward is to seriously differentiate their 'Pro' iPhones from the standard iPhones - which means that more & more often, we'll be seeing iOS versions with more fragmentation along the iPhone models and it seems 'iOS on different models' is going to be become a more frequent and important topic .

Is that how you Apple folk see it ?

In the past the differences on iOS was there, but it didn't seems as big a step now due to hardware.
Well the difference between Pro and non Pro certainly is less subtle with this year's releases. Only my current iPhone is a Pro and that's only because I was interested in its Lidar and ProRaw capabilities. I'm not sure if I want to go back to a standard model or not, I guess I'll decide once it's closer to upgrade time for me. The camera once again has me leaning towards the Pro side for now.

Strange thing about 120hz, I tend to forget about it then BOOM I notice a particular animation on my 13 PM is WAAAAYYY smoother than it was on my 11 PM. What keeps getting me is that it’s happening in areas that I usually never paid attention to but suddenly I’m like “woah, that was never that smooth before”

It keeps happening in WhatsApp with the emoji reactions, it’s also happening a lot on Instagram, iMessage, Apple Music and a few other apps, minor animations looking ridiculously smooth.

What’s special about that, haven’t Lock Screen media control’s always been there?

Yea you're right, although that specific view hasn't been a thing. You can also see widgets on the Lock Screen along with the media player now.

Just moving it to the bottom of the screen (small change I know) makes it so much more usable imo. Scrubbing into a song also feels easier now, as opposed to iOS 15

So it turns out the ear-scanning thing isn't an Airpods Pro 2 exclusive, it worked with my OG Airpods Pro. I didn't expect it to, it seemed to be a Pro 2 feature from the keynote. Much like the low power mode for AW initially seemed like it was an Apple Watch 8 and up feature, but it's actually for all watches (with WatchOS 9) from series 4 and up.
Spatial audio has always sounded great, I'm no audiophile, but I'm pretty sure it sounds even better now.
