With the iPhone 15 release.

Here's what happened in previous years:

  • iOS 13 release date: Apple announced the iOS 13 update on June 3, 2019, at the Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple released the update to the public on September 19, 2019.
  • iOS 14 release date: Apple announced the iOS 14 update on June 22, 2020, at the Worldwide Developers Conference. On the same day, it released the developers’ beta version. The public beta version was released on July 9, 2020, whereas the official update was released on September 16, 2020.
  • iOS 15 release date: Apple announced the iOS 15 update on June 7, 2021, at the Worldwide Developers Conference, and on the same day, the developer beta was released. The public beta was released at the end of June 2021, and the update’s official release was on September 20, 2021.
  • iOS 16 release date: Apple announced the iOS 16 update at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 6, 2022. It released the developer beta on the same day. Apple officially released the update on September 12, 2022.

All I want is for faceID to work when the phone is in landscape mode (EDIT: On ye olde iPhone 11)

I'm tired of looking like an owl every time I try to unlock it while watching resuming a video I was watching.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, mine already unlocks in landscape

Works on iPhone 13 and above already
 
Last beta broke my FNB app, since I moved banks will def try the beta route again.
 
Is Dolby and BSB being weird or incentivised or what

On iPad or iPhone 12 or later, you can hold your device in either portrait or landscape orientation. If it's in landscape orientation, make sure that your finger isn't covering the TrueDepth camera. Then glance at the screen. If you're wearing a face mask that covers your mouth and nose, you'll be asked to enter your passcode after swiping up.
