iOS 5 beta users - Your experience so far ...

Anyone having issues with Wifi sync for Windows?
My iOS 5 beta 4 over the air update ran fine.
In iTunes I've set the 'sync over wifi' setting on.
PC and iPhone are on same wifi network.
iPhone is plugged in.
I can't seem to get the phone to 'see' the PC unless USB is plugged in.
 
That seems to be how wifi sync works. You either have to have the phone plugged into a charger or the computer for wifi sync to work. I know, it kinda defeats the whole point of wireless sync, doesn't it?
 
Same here waaib downgraded immediately need the unthetthered jailbreak :(
 
There is no dialing via numpad in iOS5.

Re wifi sync: I did notice this morning that when I walked into the office my phone picked up the wifi network and started syncing with my desktop. No wires required.

Battery life in beta 4 also seems much improved and the photo app bug has also been sorted. iCloud mail also seems up and running for the first time in over a week.
 
Wifi Sync works fine at office but not at home. Must be a setting on the wifi side.

It that what is being asked?

Dialing using numbers is the same as in iOS4 - Click phone, Keypad, dial number. Am I missing something?
 
I am very interested in the IOS 5 and I hear t can work on the ipod touch 3rd generation. Should I wait for the official launch or go the Beta route?

As far as I know he is asking if you can type a name to dial like on Blandroid etc. where you "spell" out the persons name and it comes with a list of suggestions..

There could be a mod on Cydia for it though, not sure.

I would wait personally.. I'm on the beta and not happy with some of the bugs.

I must head over to your side to see if that guy was sorted with his jailbreak.
 
I did my first update or upgrade through iTunes the other day and it went well after a few hiccups so now I have folders instead of pages of apps which is cool.

Yes thats what I mean. Dial name not number.

iPhone does this though. In contact list touch near top of screen. You get search block/area. Type some letters. It gives options of all name that match.

Or from home screen. Swipe left. Search screen comes up. Type in part of name and all matching options are shown.
 
I tried the OTA update for beta 4 and it worked well. It was only 133MB. I did make sure to plug my phone into power and download over Wifi.
 
I have a colleague who's iPh 4 just got bricked using the iOS 5 beta 4. He's looking for why etc. Mine is running fine though.
