iOS 5 finally out

Hey guys. Is the iCloud backup working for you? Whenever I try and activate it, I get an error saying it could not do it:(
 
My iPhone took 40 minutes to download the iOS 5.0 last night. At midday today I did my iPad2 - only took 17 minutes to download using 8.ta.
 
Hey peeps. so i have iphone 4. 32gig, running ios 4.01 with baseband 01.59.00( locked to AT&T) but the phone is jailbroken and can use with any network , wanting to update to ios 5, but need to preserve my baseband, any ideas????

iPhone software took a good 2 hours with Cell C. Then downloaded my iPad software with 8ta in about 20 mins (just after midnight).
 
So, busy DL via Cell C with iTunes.

DL stops after about 400MB.

When I restart it, it starts at zero.

On top of that iTunes has lost some of my Apps, including a few expensive ones.

iTunes must be the worst piece of software ever produced.

I had that exact same problem 3 times in a row last night. I ended up downloading it, from one of the direct links and restoring my device.

As for the lost app's I know what you mean, after restore for some reason iTunes lost my Apple Id and all my apps?, I had to go reset the dam thing cause it said it was locked for security reasons? Now have to hunt them down, at least I dont have to buy them again.

Well I make it sound worse than it seems... just need to go on iTunes purchased(My account) and download them

So the istore told me I'd have to pay 175ZAR for them to upgrade for me. No, they won't give me the file. The charge is called a 'service fee'.

I can get the files from friends with adsl but was just curious.

Hahahaha. A couple of words would come to mind had I been in the same situation. They sure know how to impress their customers don't they ;)

Which iStore was that?? Aren't they supposed to do upgrades free for customers?

Holy cow, I bought a lot of crap over the years(4 years).. over half of this apps I forgot about... Ok so maybe resetting and losing all my apps in Itunes was not such a bad move :)

Poor phone is now gonna download till next year.
 
When you install iOS5 on your iPad, must you join iCloud or is it optional? I'm not sure which appleid i want to link to iCloud so I don't want to join at this point in time.

iCloud so far is optional. As I haven't joined anything yet and still use my phone as normal, but I suspect it might become mandatory in the future as more and more applications use it.
