iOS 6 GM is out!

Were you having stability issues on 5.1.1?

No, all was good there. Everything worked as expected on iOS 5.1.1

One of the guys at the office flashed iOS6 on his iPhone 4S. Also reported stability issues using wifi. But then again, on the same office WiFi that I had issues on (my GS3 and Notebook are fine on it though)

The issues I have are...
1. From off, when the pad reaches the unlock screen, the screen is not responsive at all. I turn the screen off then back on again then the screen responds and I can unlock.
2. When re-downloading my apps the app store keeps hanging when I select multiple apps. I got to 5 and the store would stop responding. It would however complete the downloads and eventually become responsive again and I could select more. Eventually meaning a couple of minutes.
3. WiFi drop outs as mentioned previously. At home with a reserved address via DHCP it seems fine though.

Not good. Perhaps a bug in the GM but highly unlikely.

Unresponsive lock screen is peculiar. I know sometimes after a cold start or a reboot the lock screen is unresponsive but usually only for about 2-3 seconds after the device has finished switching on, no longer than that.

I take it you haven't installed iTunes? All my apps are stored on my pc and I sync via iTunes as opposed to downloading again from AppStore. Haven't tried the iCloud backup either. Prefer backup on my own pc. Tried to simulate your issue with 5 apps and more and they queuing and downloading, appstore still responsive. 5.1.1 though.

I've noticed flaky wifi connection too but not since using a static ip.

You may have to reload tomorrow with the official release and hopefully these issues will no longer exist.

Sure there will be download links available from mirror sites, torrents or file hosting sites by mid day tomorrow.

I figured I could use iTunes but was too lazy to try figure out how, and did not feel like sitting at my PC. This is where Android panel beats iOS. Don't need a PC. Old habits :D

When we get back from holiday I will flash the update coming tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.
Thanks for your tips dude ;)

From what I gathered at the office, it is better to wait.

I flashed this release on my iPad3 and it seems pretty buggy. The guys in the office are adamant that Apple "don't release buggy software " and I should have waited for the official release.

I am more familiar with Android stuff and an Apple n00b so don't know how much truth is in this?

My friend with a iPad 3rd Gen with iOS 6 and has not had any wifi issues so far.

I have however seen issues with wifi and iOS 5 personally, but it seems related to the AP and iOS only. In short the iOS device wifi keeps connecting/disconnecting. When I reboot the AP it's fine again.

I think we should see iOS drop sometime this evening here.

Last time i think it came out around lunch time..... i remember trying to dl it at 2kps..... :erm:
Fair enough - techcrunch says 10am Pacific 1pm EST which is what I went on but whenever it is I think it's gonna be slow for quite some time. :)
