iPad 2 disadvantages

Okay, okay, you might be an exception... For most 'tho, the process has always goes a little something like: Get an iPod, like it a lot, so maybe get an iPhone 'cos of how much we like the iPod. Like the iPhone a lot so start looking at an iPad or Mac... Blink and ever bit of tech has a shiny silver Apple on it. Purr like a kitten.

I actually got an iPod purely because my car took it ... never been out or even used the GUI.
iPhone has just never appealed tbh .... iPad was cheap .... but admittedly, I do like the iMac now ;)

Good chance it'll be my next computer purchase

Brother, it's okay... You're among friends now. ;)

LOL, there's no stopping you now...

Btw I recommend you consider a Macbook Pro plus 27" monitor or mac mini; if you still prefer the iMac then I'd strongly suggest you buy one with both a SSD + SATA drive -- these things are a pain to upgrade; not so with the Macbook Pro and Mac Mini.

HAHAHAHA.... I see a mac fanboy :p

You just need Apple TV to go with that order.

I had a Mac air for 3 months.... and I can see why people love it, if I was not such a game-oholic I would probably have kept it. Swapped it for a gaming Laptop with a female friend. Bought it in the US so actually scored on the deal.

I exclude the iPod - the iPad was cheap!

My tenant is giving a ton of issues, so it won't be soon until I sort her out :/ But when I do go ahead, it would probably be a 2nd machine and a Powerhouse. I liked the one advertised here on MyBB secondhand for R7,500.00 (i3) - but timing was wrong.

My primary will still be a Windows 7 machine

PS I won't be trading the Volvo for a BMW anytime soon ;)

That's what they all say in the beginning (re W7 primary)... Nothing quite like windows in a VM on a unix base.

SiriS - off topic, I was thinking about what items to get rid if the sh*t really hit the fan ...

My 7D, 70-200 and speakers the absolute last on my list. I'd rather live with no bed, couch, TV, iPad etc than sell those items :P

The lack of an expandable memory slot or a USB slot is an issue for me. I don't want to have to hook the thing up to a computer to transfer media to it, that defeats the purpose of having a tablet IMO.

What about the HTC Flyer? Does it suffer from the same drawbacks?

If you make a folder on a USB stick called DSIM, you can view it on the iPad via the camera/usb accessory. Apparently the iPad then thinks it is looking at a camera. Works for me

Why do I always get the cannot connect to iTunes or can't connect to cellular data messages the whole time. I almost always have full strength? This is becoming really annoying, because I have to keep refreshing the iTunes store etc. My browser never gives me this message and it always connects.

myMTN

What should my time and date settings be? Because it seems normal. Set automatically though.

Or just get an Android upfront ;)

iPad is a great starter tablet, but when you grow and learn, you'll need to upgrade. Almost like a camera actually
