(Reading USB drive on an iPad)
f you make a folder on a USB stick called DSIM, you can view it on the iPad via the camera/usb accessory. Apparently the iPad then thinks it is looking at a camera. Works on my iPad2

Changed all of that but it is still happening. Doesn't look like my iPad wants to play nicely with 3G.
I like the split keyboard, but it hangs around the middle of the page and often covers the text if you are writing a fair sized passage. I usually have to go back to 'dock and merge' to finish what I'm writing.
I'm on iOS 5.0, can anyone tell me if it's been changed on 5.01?

Frankly the split and undock is dumb IMO
You can position either keyboard to where you like it.
I like the split, good for fast typing with thumbs, but it needs to dock or at least keep the text above the keyboard level. What's dumb is that the text goes behind it and you can't see it.

Just swap your iPad with someone who will appreciate it. Droid has offered you his Galaxy Tab 10.1. Then go to the Android forum and be happy.

I understand in your little ''i' world everything is pink, fluffy and magical, but this reality and everything has flaws. If you can't bare to believe that there is anything wrong with an Apple - then don't read it read and head over to read the marketing/brochures at www.apple.com.
I've simply pointed these issues out, asked if there are work arounds or complained the feature doesn't work for me. Same with my Volvo, Blackberry, LCD, MS computer, screen, house design and pretty much every else in existence. A great thing about each of the other brands is they have forums where people answer with a decent non-bias reply.

Glad you brought that up again - I'm still trying to figure out makes it a starter tablet - I still haven't hit a ceiling with what my gen one iPad is capable of doing. :wtf:
Like I mentioned, you can drag either keyboard style to where you want it.

I don't see that using Android, Windows and Apple makes me an iSheep. Quite frankly if you had won another product and constantly went on about it, I would have said the same thing to you. Has nothing to do with the fact it is an Apple product.

I BOUGHT my iPad initially - I'm paying it off with MY money that I WORKED for. Yes - I won another - but the one I'm using is MINE and the short comings were picked up BEFORE I received my prize. Contrary to what you believe I'm very grateful.
I feel I'm allowed to query some aspects of the iPad and see if perhaps I'm doing something wrong - ie when I posted the iTunes query, I was told a better method.
When I got my car I had an iPod adapter installed which allowed to control from the wheel and see the songs etc I went out and bought a 160GB iPod to load all my music and took collection of the car the following day. Instantly, I realised I couldn't search any music and simply brwose.
I went to a VOLVO forum with owners and enthusiasts and posed the question. Guess what the answer was? Many had the same gripe ... it was Volvos fault for not building it in the firmware ... VW and other brands had a better system etc. Do you see how that differs from the answers from the answers here?
Apple forums are more like groups of owners patting themselves on the back for the excellent choice they made in buying the product and smile at each other with their shiny new toys.
I can't paint all users like this - but there's a huge majority. So large, in fact, that there are 100s of jokes going around about the fanatical users, mental issues brought up and a simple Google of 'Apple fans' shows what most are like.
EDIT : Anyhow .... I feel I'm near an infraction. So I'm going to chill too ...

Apple fans are defensive in the same way that all groups are defensive, because in both cases each group is tarred with fairly ignorant slights which rely on all types of stereotypes rather than facts.
You see apple fans saying android sucks and you see android fans saying apple suck. On both sides you get some touchiness which occasionally ignores the facts, but its hardly an issue really, its just best to try things before giving an opinion. Neither android or IOS are perfect. Isn't a lack of tablet apps and a lack of polish a major failing of android, or doesn't that count?
You still don't own an android tablet. So saying the iPad is just a starter tablet in comparison is probably not the best move.
The perfect tablet is yet to be built imo, i still prefer real computers for most things, but I'm sure things will get better quite fast.

Why are you getting so upset? Not everyone who owns an iDevice is a fanatic and thinks its perfect. I even told my wife that if Windows tablets have better features and have a similar ecosystem then I will change. I am anything but an iSheep. All I was saying is that surely someone else who doesn't have an iPad or has one and is happier to workaround the issues would appreciate it more.
Any how enjoy your iPad(s) and hopefully you will be happier when you get an advanced tablet.

But yeah, chilling might be a good plan.
Giving dolby an "I"fraction might be laying on the fandom a bit thick i would say.
