You can Google as much as you like, not going to help the fact that drive letters that change **** up iTunes, period. Also when my media is stored in directories based on Genre, not iTunes idea of genre's which places my "Sisters of Mercy" under Alternative instead of Goth, or "The Sisterhood" into a separate group as Sisters of Mercy. I also gave up on using it to get my Album art and fixing mp3 tags as it royally stuffs it up. Sure if you listen to commercial crap it works but the moment you hit the underground scene it has no clue.

Like I said I prefer to manage my Music myself thank you very much.

Ah - now there's the true Apple reply I was wondering when one would join the thread! Everyone else seems to be have been helpful with links and answers - but occasionally you get someone that won't hear of a flaw i there 'i' ecosystem. Flash? Don't need it! iTunes? Love it! 3G? Why? USB2? Outdated! Bluray? Use a HDD! Region locks? Hack!

Your views on Android appear to baseless, maybe you should buy one before providing commentary, otherwise you just come across as a typical juvenile troll.

If you are really trying to get opinions from current owners then I'd suggest you avoid slating everything that is not inline with your frame of reference (which to be honest appears to be the formulation of a lot of others negative opinions on technology, many which are baseless)

Between my phone, tablet and mp3 player everything is in sync, including ratings which I do on the go - and is absolutely critical to my playlist and listening management.

Roi - you're not only one with both an iPad and Galaxy. My stepbrother has an iPad 1, iPad 2 and recently bought a Galaxy 10.1 for his wife. Do you know which he recommends .... ? Can you guess his reasoning?

He's very much in the same, lucky situation as you (albeit, less of an iSheep it seems) and he recommended to both myself and his father to get the Galaxy over the iPad. However for my needs the iPad are OK as a tablet and it will do for now. Most importantly, I can afford it ... and can't afford the Galaxy

And the opinions on technology - I do hope you're talking the tablets, as I've owned my fair share of technology and been an early adopter of most things in the last 15 years. However I don't see the requirement of owning something and being able to comment as linked.

Whether I own it or not, the limitations are still there. I've played with both and the odds of the limitations miraculous disappearing when I hand over money are pretty much nothing ...

Sounds like a stupid question coming from someone who has a stepbrother who as owned both the first and second gen iPads. Why as questions on a forum if you can answer them yourself by using the device as you stated in you previous post you have quite alot of access to the devices add experience using them?

Okay and when people offer solutions to problems you may face you shoot down the advice with your little "apple is perfect and how dare I think the opposite". I agree the product isn't perfect and there are quite a few flaws, but this thread hasn't been informative to public for atleast the last 5 pages as you and all your troll friends keep shooting down the solutions we "sheep" have offered to make the product pleasant for you to use.

A product may not be perfect but most of the time there will be a way around the minor issues you might encounter. Certain things on my iPhone such and I have fixed them through various mods. If you don't want to listen to the advice given you'll end up hating the iPad even more once you finally get it.

EDIT : I think the idea of this tread as a whole was quite good as this gives people who are interested in buying the devices a good idea of what to expect as reviewers won't encounter the same issues some who has been using the device for a longer time period will. Sad that it has turned into an Apple/Apple users slating thread. Good have been quite informative.

I gathered that the part most people didn't like were stating it had flaws - for which I apologised.

Why ruin your life and waste money on buying technology that you have already agreed is incapable?

Save up your cents and buy what you really want, Android 4.0 (ice cream sandwich) tablets are anyway going to be only available next year - my recommendation to anyone at this late stage in the product cycle (Apple or Android) would be to either wait for iPad 3 or Android 4.0 tablets.

The other point to note is that it won't be long before specials appear in the Android space... Wait it's what you want...

Whether I read on 10 review sites, chat to 10 owners, use one or buy one - there are facts that don't change.

I can rely on opinions with certain things and others are subjective - but for things like USB - does it make a difference if I read 'lacks USB' or notice it myself? I'm not quite understanding what you're saying to be quite honest?

One must also consider the new iOS5 here. A lot of the negatives of the past have been addressed. The new notification system is awesome. I can now have spell-checks without autocorrect. iCloud is cool. The split thumb keyboard works great. Why not look at the positives too? One must weigh the positives and negstives of both iOS and Android devices and then make a decision. One cannot just focus on the negatives of one and then make conclusive findings and statements.

I also have both devices and each has strengths and weaknesses. All things considered the iPad 2 is imo still the better slate, but others are welcome to feel otherwise. I carry both to work and use them differently. I need the openess of Android as well as the excellent apps of the iPad. iWorks is awesome on iOS with Keynote a joy to use for presentations. Nothing on Android comes close. Its the apps that makes the iPad better imo, not so much the hardware. Honeycomb is crap imo but this will hopefully change with ICS.

Most will however only be able to afford one and to them I will always recommend the iPad.

FYI rooting Android devices is akin to jailbreaking Apple devices, what's the difference? I have rooted / jailbroken both my devices previously and will consider doing the same if there is essential functionality that can only be that way. To be honest, the platforms have evolved a lot recently so that gap is no longer so evident.

Your point about lying about location is mute for two reasons:
1. Where is Android's legal equivalent for South Africa? Apple have chosen to operate within the legal framework, maybe you should rather focus your grievance at those who have imposed these laws?
2. You previously said you'll hack, etc... Basically whatever your needed to do to get what you wanted (surely pirating is worse than legally paying for something vs lying about your location? No doubt about which one the media owners prefer?)
