Howdy all,

My problem.

I have an Ipad 3 that I want to connect to my laptop.

Initially the Ipad connected and I did the updates on my laptop and sorted out my apps on the Ipad. I then disconnected the Ipad and tested the apps etc. I reconnected the Ipad to the laptop and now I get a popup on the laptop asking what I want to do with the device (Ipad). Before I get a chance to click on an option the Ipad disconnects. This loops approximately every 5 seconds.

To test the cable I did the following:
Plugged in my Ipod which works fine and syncs my music without any issue.
Plugged in my Ipad into my desktop which seems to work (Itunes open on the desktop and no disconnects).

The problem is that I am going away and would like to sync my Ipad with my laptop and not my desktop.

Details of devices:
Ipad 3 64gig wifi+cell (no sim installed)

MSI GE72 laptop with Itunes (up to date) running Windows 10. (The only change on the laptop since the issue started was that my GeForce driver updated).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this too - nobody knows why it happens (well, that is what I discovered). The solution was to use a different lightning cable. I've argued. I've cried. I've laughed. And I've given up and now have two of these cables. One works, then the other one works and so it continues.

Ta, I am getting another cable a bit later (note: I am using a 30-pin connector) and will test it. My desktop itunes has now crashed and even after a clean install (removed all apple applications) it still crashes.

As much as I enjoy my iPhone, I still detest iTunes.
