Hi
Have a Jailbroken iPad 3 and it was working fine. Loaded a app and then it gets stuck on the apple Logo , however I get it out of that by connecting it to PC & iTunes and doing a hard reboot a number of times and eventually it loads up like normal.
However Cydia and all the other Jailbroken & mail apps don't work anymore. Other apps work fine and in the setting app, the jailbroken apps are not there.

I dont want to reload the new firmware IOS 6.1.3 because there is no Jailbreak for it. I enjoy the Jailbreak because I can make all the changes to my ipad , like themes etc.

Anyone know how I can reload Jailbreak without loading the new firmware.

Thanks

Okay, need some additional information. What did you use to jailbreak your phone? What was the app you installed? Did you discard anything that was recommended to be updated in Cydia that was related to the jailbreak. I totally bricked my phone the first time I jailbroke it but was lucky to recover. It sounds to me as though something has been corrupted and your device is no longer un-tethered.

Hi
Thanks, well I can remember it was iFix, i was not getting my Icons not changing when I ran the theme in Winterboard. I used Evasi0n to jailbreak my Ipad 3. I know after after I got it passed the Apple logo while it was conneted to iTunes , it did a backup. After unplugging it , all jailbreastuff did not work anymore. If I switch it off now, it still gets stuck on the apple log, have to the 6 x reboot then onto itunes . So Evasion as jailbreak and I am sure it was iFix
tHanks guys

Okay, I will respond in a bit. Going to have a smoke and chat with a mate about this. You saying it gets stuck on the boot screen and you need to reboot it 6 times for it to start. If so, there is a way around this. I also had a screw up and did post a thread about it if you would like to read it in the meantime...

on a ipad 3, as soon as you try reload any for of firmware, it will be 6.1.3 ( only version apple is signing) , and no more jailbreak

Hi
Just a question in the meantime, can I download the ipsw file ( 6.0 ) and restore the ipad from that , then jailbreak it after the ipad restores to 6.0 ?

You can yes if you ctrl+click on restore it will let you choose your own IPSW. You might need to DFU the iPad first though.

It sounds as if your device is now tethered. You can tether boot it by downloading the 6.0 ispw and use redsn0w to do a tethered boot where you select your own ispw and pointing the redsn0w to where you have saved the ispw file.

A restore didn't work with my phone, I had to do a tethered boot. It is pretty fool proof and explains step by step from DFU all the way through.

Just reload with 6.1.2 (or whatever version you had on before) from a file then re-jailbreak.

Not that simple. His device is still jailbroken but sounds like it has become tethered. A tethered boot will not reboot an iOS over version 6.1. I tried. It was infuriating. If you try to just jailbreak it again it waill tell you that the phone is already jailbroken. Even a restore didn't remove the jailbreak.

Thanks so so much guys , i try it tonight and should be back to normal. Oh yes , any idea why when i did applied the new themes to my ipad ( Winterboard ) , that the icons did not all change. I noticed one or two did. I want a theme that changes everything.
Thanks
Once again thanks for the help,

Once again thanks for the help,
All depends on the themes you selected. I downloaded quite a lot of themes when I first started playing with Winterboard. Most of them were half jobs. There are sites with top 10 lists of themes. It will save you time and effort. I stopped using themes. I use Springtomize and SBSettings mostly now with a couple other apps to customise my phone's feel and appearance. Very happy :)

Hi
On more question to do the tethered boot, i download Redsn0w 0.9.6rc13 on the their download webpage and run it and follow the instructions ? Or is a Tethered boot different ?

I used 0.9.15b3. Unzipped. Ran exe as admin. Click 'extras'. Click 'Select ISPW'. Selct your ISPW file. And then I think you select the 'Just Boot' option which will take you through the steps.

HI Guys
Just sorted my ipad out and its jailbroke. I tried for hours with Redsn0w etc and could not get anything right. Well I tried the thing where you hold the Volume button while it boots and wala its working.
Thanks again

Hahahaha. Are you for real. That's so funny. Glad you got it sorted out man.

Yeah that's a safe mode boot feature we often forget about. Disables mobile substrates. Hell man, I needed this fix the other day on my ipad4. Could have prevented me from having to do a restore to 6.1.3 and losing my jailbreak.
