iPad 3 IOS 6 Jailbroken help

did not realize its safe mode, so what do i do to make sure it will boot-up correctly ?

The idea is to be able to get into Cydia and uninstall the last app installed which in theory would be the one that caused the instability in the first place.

In your case was that winter board or a theme activated in winter board? Might want to uninstall the theme and then winter board and see if stability returns.

EDIT: I see you mentioned ifix being the culprit. That would be the app you want to uninstall.

Non themeing icons can be caused by a number of factors including cached icon images. fsWipeCache is a tweak that actually works and will delete those pesky caches for you. iCleaner is another useful cleanup tool to install.

A lot of iPad themes are not iOS6 compatible so that would also lend itself to non themeing icons. Also copying mobileicons folder to a pc and then back to an iDevice corrupts the masks required to theme an icon. You end up with a perfectly square, non themed, non masked icon. To remedy this you need to open the mask png in PS and choose the save for web & devices option. It's temperamental and finicky but such is the world of themeing...

Removed all my themes in winterboard and did a respring and everything went fine
How can I see if my ipad is in safe mode or not ?

If its in safe mode none of your jailbreak tweaks would be working other than Cydia.

It should also specify safe mode in the status bar with an option to exit safe mode. Not sure if this feature is exclusive to sbsettings though so if you never had sbsettings installed you won't see those options in the status bar.

Looks like its not in Safe mode , that's good. Not going to power off just yet use it for awhile before i take a chance.

Well is it possible to backup my Ipad so that I don't have to go through this again, a Jailbreak backup ?

Jailbreak backup no. Your only safety net is to ensure you never in a state where you need to restore.

The volume down while booting fix is working for you so I reckon it's safe for you to power down.

Hi Guys
I am back and found out that I am in SAFE Mode !!!, I have deleted plenty of apps and I think all my themes , cleaned my Cache folder and did a reboot and it still stops at the Apple Logo. Last night I left it like that overnight and it boot all the way through after a couple hours I think. However Cydia still does not work. I then had to do a reboot again and hold the volumn key and back to safe mode ??
Any ideas guys ?

Actually I could not find it when I went into Safe Mode , so I don't even know if it loaded.

Where did you look? Open Cydia, click on manage>packages... and search through your list of installed packages. If it's installed it will be listed there. I assume you've already checked there as this would be the same process you'd be following to uninstall your installed themes and apps...??
 
Another question, while you are uninstalling apps, tweaks and themes are you seeing any error messages on the screen, they in red font?
 
A failed ifix installation might be causing the issue where the remedy would in fact be to properly try re-install ifix.
 
Is it possible to reload Cydia , without going through the process of retsoring ipad, would that help me.

Can be done but not if you currently stuck in safe mode.

But your first priority has to revolve around ifix if this was infact the culprit causing the instability.

I say again, establish if it's installed and remove it. Alternatively re-install it, if it is currently listed as not installed.
 
Atlast sorted my Ipad 3 out. I don't understand what did happened but when I Jail-broke my iPad I used Evasi0n. It was untethered Jailbreak. However, last night after plunging my ipad into my PC, the ipad rebooted and came up with the the locked screen.
All my Jailbreaks are back in my Settings etc.
I did not realize I had a tethered Jailbreak and it had to be booted connected to the PC.I had connected the iPad to my PC before but it never booted like it did last night. I kept putting it into Safe Mode.
Well thanks guys for all the help.

Can you guys suggest some good themes that will change everything, Background, Icons etc and will not cause any problems. Also how can I now backup the iPad so that I don't need to " Restore " is there is a problem.

I suspected as much. If you look at my earlier replies, I said it sounded to be like it had switched to a tethered break. It happens sometimes. Glad it is sorted.
