Ipad and Exchange, wth

I have an ipad here I am trying to connect to our exchange server.

Using the same settings as I do on my droid (and various other droids).

Keep getting "unable to verify account information"

Any suggestions?

Yes if you mean the SSL button when trying to modify the account.

Turn it on and I get that error instantly. if it is off it just takes longer.
 
Just skip the verification. It's not uncommon for private servers.
 
I also tried resetting network connections, with and without domain name, with the user name the same as the email address and various other things.
Ipad, she is broken

Tried that, it does not find the exchange.

I tried our external domain (mail.domainname.com) and the static IP as well.
 
Ok, found the problem.

Still running IOS 6 (I tried with an ipad on IOS7.2.summink and works without an issue.

So now I want to update it but have some issues/worries.

She set up itunes at her last company on their laptop.
She has installed apps using 2 different accounts.

If I do the update will she lose her paid apps?
 
Just update OTA on the device itself, don't use iTunes.

I'm sure it was supported in iOS6 already.

Either way an update won't nuke the Apps, only a restore will.

From what I was reading it's some security thing that changed on exchange. then Apple screwed up in IOS 7.0 and fixed it in 7.1

Anyway, I'll do her update tomorrow.
