iPad boot loop

So our first ever Apple product failed. To put into perspective one of the kids have a 12 year old iPad that is a bit slow but still works and even battery last a few hours. Also a 7 year old iPhone still working great.

Wife's 6th or 7th gen iPad just crashed while watching Netflix and is just going to recovery screen. I have tried all the fixes from google like hard reset trying to restore from iTunes etc, but nothing seem to work.
Looks like hardware failure.
So only thing I can think of is hard drive/ssd failure.
Do they repair those or is it not worth it on older models? iPad is just used for Netflix/games etc.

What is the actual error when it fails?

And are you hard loading the IPSW file or getting it off the internet every time?

Well it just give the Apple logo and then go to the recovery screen. When trying to update or recover it gives Unknown error (4013)
I don't know what your second question mean. I use either iTunes on pc or Finder on Mac and then it ask if you want to update or recover and I think it download something of the internet then.

Just an FYI. There is no SSD or hard drive in them. It’s all built in storage SoC type of deal.

Yeah that’s how you do it. You are of course choosing recovery I assume?

If that doesn’t work. Take it to an iStore maybe. But sounds hardware related.

An app would never cause the system to shutdown. Or reboot. Not possible. So def hardware I think.

Okay your internet connection might be the problem, especially if you are running some fancy DNS server or VPN or something.

Download the IPSW file directly and then manually load it directly onto the device.
