So, after getting a new iPad I decided to wipe my old iPad 2 and give it to my dad. Once I had done the usual "reset to factory settings, wipe all data", the iPad resets, I watch the logo come up, choose language, choose region, connect to wifi, wait for activation.............and boom. REPLACEMENT NEEDED.
The beautiful error that states "This iPad is not able to complete the activation process and needs to be replaced. Please visit your nearest Apple Store or Authorized provider for more information."
After a few hours of trawling forums, and trying all the fixes, I give up and take it to an iStore. They do everything I tried and then end up saying "this is a paperweight now. We can't fix it. You can buy a new one for R4000. That's all you can do." So I ask they guy does this have anything to do with the fact that Apple isn't producing iPad2's or a bug of 7.1.1 (as stated in the forums). He says that "maybe Apple just want you to be a new one. This one's old anyways." Apparently it is a hardware fault and cannot be repaired. It worked 3 hours before that, but ok fine, sadness abounds.
If anyone has any ideas around this, iFix also had no clue, drop me a message? Other than that I thought I would just share my misery with everyone else
