iPad case

Hi guys

What do y'all reckon is the best value for money case for a new iPad? I guess you can't go wrong with the offical Smart covers, but they're quite pricy. I'm looking for something that'll protect it properly (obviously), but also be functional. Decent stands, ability to stand up on portrait mode etc.

I have to say the smart cover does the job nicely - as I'm sure does the smart case which includes a back cover. I got a belkin back cover for mine that required a bit of finesse with a sharp knife to get it to work in conjunction with the cover.

Nothing quite as good as the Smart covers. I've tried many different ones - proper stand, different angles, all over cover etc - and they all add bulk and weight. Smart cover (or copy) is light and functional.

I agree the smart cover is excellent, and is not bulky at all, however it doesn't provide protection for the back, so you have to be careful. I went for something like this Slim Folio Cover for iPad
offers total protection and quite slim as well.
i think having a full case somewhat hides the beauty of an ipad.

Take alot has a nice deal for a cover that's not as expensive as the genuine smart covers,I received it today,nice quality. and if you buy something small with,you can get free courier shipping.

I've got a leather smart cover with a Zagg screen cover to protect the front and back from scratches. i'm still 50/50 on the front screen cover as it does protect but also reduces sensitivity and changes the feel of the glass, and picks up dust easier.

I got the ozaki black ipad case! Absolutely amazing.. Pricey but worth it! Will last for a couple of years

If you like using your product 'naked', a protective sleeve is a good idea too.

Anyone know where you could get branded cases? I've seen the cheap looking stormers,bulls, sharks etc cover from makro, just thought there would be more available.
Also what are you thoughts on the case doubling as a stand? I've seen a few worn cases now and they do not stand up well after the wear and tear.

I have a combination of Smart Cover and ExtremelyMac sleeve.

The sleeve for travelling, the Smart Cover while actually using it.

Was in Tygervalley centre the other day. Wife dragged me into this store called "Typo". As I understand from the website they are part of an Australian company called "cotton on"... They sell all these weird and quirky stationary type stuff.
I have been actively looking for a cover for my ipad 4th gen. My requirements for the cover: slim fit, rugged, neutral colour, lock/unlock feature, strong fit so it doesnt come off easily, light and foldable in different ways.
Nway, so entering this store against my will, I found the perfect cover for my ipad... For my needs.
They call it the transforma ipad and ipad mini case. The cover is brilliant! I am extremely happy.
The thing that I love about this cover is all the different folding positions. It has 4 different folding positions all with different heights.
The quality is very good and the fit is perfect. The best part... I paid R179!!

Im not sure if there are more Typo stores around in SA as the website is not updated.. Can maybe phone the store in tygervalley and ask?

For the price, this is really worth a look!

Ps. When i was in store they had the black/grey, beige, red, blue and orange. Not sure if other colours are available...

Thats exactly what I'm looking for, there some really nasty looking cases out there but this one fits the bill.
