So I've bought an Apple Ipad 3 and I'm starting to regret it.

I cannot open a account to get apps from the US store. And the SA store is so limited.

I've tried Kenya as many suggested, but the store says my card is not valid in that country. Any help?

It is not difficult to open a US iTunes account. However, there are certain steps you must follow to make it work.

Make sure you first try to buy a free app, then choose the option to create an ID, make sure you choose US as your country, preferably use an email that you've never used before for an Apple ID, register using a valid address. Use Google to find the address of a McDonalds, hotel or any other place that advertises their address. Once that's all done, you will just have to respond to a verification mail that Apple sends you. The free app bit is to enable the option to not link a credit card to your account.

I think that have changed. I've read guides where they say you must click FREE as payment type, but that doesn't work anymore, as you have to select a card type or PayPal. No more free option.

I don't intend to buy apps, I only want free apps...

Edit: After various tries, a NONE option appeared!

Yup, got it to work. And what if you want to actually buy an app? Easiest options? Something like Virtual Credit Card?

Store vouchers.
Log onto favourite site for vouchers (buyfrompowerseller, wildtwig), buy voucher, drum fingers on table waiting for mail with code, redeem code in iTunes, profit.

I tried using an Entropay card and it failed miserably. Vouchers are still the best bet.

To the OP, I had trouble with iPhone earlier in year, tried every guide on the interwebz, couldn't get it to work. Then I used iTunes in a Mac, worked like a bomb. So before you commit suicide try buying a free app using iTunes on a PC:D
