iPad versus Samsung tablet

I also have both, and definitely prefer my ipad over the samsung, the ipad's build quality just feels solid, and the quality of apps in the app store is much better imo.

I also have both. The only thing the iPad has going for it is perfect proxy integration. Android sucks on a proxy server.

If you will never use a proxy server, get the Samsung tablet.

I've tried the Samsung tab. Can not even compare to the iPad. Build quality is far better and the samsung has a slow interface. In other words the OS was clunky and slow changing between home screens etc. Not good.

My first tablet
iPad 2 wifi - never had any issues at all, no lag, user experience is stupid easy, everything just works.
The apps around felt like they are designed for the tablet experience.

Acer Iconia A500 - tablet froze when updating to ICS using Acer update program, had to run a couple resets etc.
Apps where OK but I felt that they were more geared towards phones and tablet where an after thought.
Interface was awesome, love having emails open, weather update open etc on my homes-screen without having to enter the app.
Tablet screen was terrible and gave me headaches.
The tablet seemed to slow down after a while, find myself getting all sorts of apps just to improve performance, some of which froze the tablet.

iPad 3 with 3G - Man alive but that screen is pure awesomeness , you really have to come up from other tablets to see what a difference that screen makes for photos, videos and reading books.
I showed a lady in our office this morning who has Galaxy Tab 2 and reads plenty, she could not believe the difference in screen quality, I'm actually shocked at how bad the screen on the Samsung was with over-saturated colours.

I prefer iPad over Samsung tablet. In quality and user friendly interface.

Personally I prefer my ipad. Its plain simple, reliable and fast all the time. It does what apple intended it to do.

On the hand I have found apps crashing way too often on samsung android. Sometimes slow.

For the ordinary user who wants somethings that works out of box go ipad. But if you are a techie person android is the device. You will be fixing it all the time or trying to wonder why its misbehaving.

I'm almost identical except I had a Sony S instead of an Iconia...and I had a Nexus7 for a day which was decent enough.

It depends on what your'e going to use it for.

Ive had a few iPads. was always happy with them and a few months ago got the GN10. Much of muchness. The main difference for me is the flexibility of the GN. Love how easy its to transfer files back and forth. I cant stand iTunes!

Also Google intergration is nice for me.

While the iPad has a great screen, the difference really isn't as amazing as some people make out. My GF has an iPad3 which she got the day after I got my Note 10.1, so we've been able to compare.

She regularly says she wishes she could've gotten a Note rather. She had to get the iPad due certain apps developed by the company she works for.

Last week when I upgraded my phone, I went to the Vodashop with my tab, typed the upgrade request on my company letterhead in Polaris/Word format, printed it to pdf, signed it with the S-pen and then sent it to the shop via bluetooth. Right now, the iPad cannot dream of matching this type of usability.

I'd take that and a lesser(but still great) screen over the best screen and average usability EVERY SINGLE TIME.

As for the comments re lags and so on, I recently upgraded to JB and there simply is none. Along with the improved multi-tasking(up to 16 apps open at the same time) this thing is the dogs you-know-what http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LZ3krff1JCE

It is not perfect, but neither is the iPad.

PDFpen. Only part not doable is Bluetooth.

/ just saying

I think the bluetooth part is pretty important don't you?

Would be a handy alternative to email, yeah...

Having said that I can't recall the last time I was asked to "bluetooth" requested documentation to my lawyer/financial advisor/landlord/insurer/broker...
