Looking for one of these - who has in stock? Tried Incredible Connection (Sandton City and Woodmead, Dion Wired (they don't call back) and the Melrose, Sandton and Santon City iStores.

Will stop to buy me one on Friday. I would love to have the HDMI connector as well, but most projectors still use VGA

These things are like hens' teeth.

I haven't seen the HDMI connector.

What is starting to bug is the price being charged. I got the camera connection from Heathrow for R250, the VGA connector cost R279 here. The iPad 2 dock cost R329. These are all listed as $29 items. But R329 vs R279 for something that has the same price? iStore are ripping us off.

The HDMI connector is $39 so it'll be interesting to see the price charged here.

Oh, next mission is the keyboard.

If you have the camera connection kit, try a regular USB keyboard in it ;)

I got a message saying the device wasnt supported . . . but it worked. :)

Looked flipping ridiculous though! :D

There I was all keen to try out the VGA adapter thingy and would you believe that Keynote has had a major revamp. I think it has gone from 69MB to around 118MB. Oh, and Pages and Numbers updated too - all larger. I'll read up on the changes after a cup of coffee.

I think the Canalwalk store has keyboards - Cape Town is just a little too damp at the moment. None of the Gauteng stores have a clue about when they'll get stock. And if the HDMI connect turns up I'll have to get one to be complete :)

Yeah the bluetooth keyboard is the best solution, I suppose. I read they added this warning in iOS 4 that the keyboard drains too much power - I wonder if that's true though, does a USB keyboard really use power?

The keyboard has batteries in it. It is having bluetooth on that drains the iPad's battery.

I'm going to give it a test and see if I notice any discernible impact on battery life. I've had to pinch one of those plate stands to stand my ipad on though. I was looking at the bluetooth keyboards at heathrow but at the last minute thought better of it and put my wallet away.

I got really excited yesterday with the Keynote app and the new Keynote Remote. So - iPad connected to VGA adapter and presentation is up on the wall. And then controlling it from my iPhone and having access to speaker notes too. Wow :D

Istore melrose arch had two of the VGA connecters. But I bought one of them and my friend bought the other. So I guess that out f stock. Works great.

I think I'll have to have one of these sent over. I was at a friends wedding over the weekend and we set up his camera and my wifi card and MBP to create a makeshift photo booth for the guests but I'm thinking now using my ipad would have been a lot less trouble and much less risky.

The price isn't too different between here and the UK - it is just that the iStore is really, really, really pathetic when it comes to stock holding. And their inventory management processes are diabolical.
