Anyone used an ipad adapter like this, or know if it actually works?

I thought it would be nice if I could connect my SD card from my sony camera, or even connect the camera direct, using the adapter. Hopefully then I could download the pics to the ipad, do a little editing – delete whats crap, and they would then be ready to be e-mail or uploaded to flickr. Do-able?

There is a camera connection. It is an official Apple product. The box contains two dongle-like things. One has a USB port that you'd connect your camera to, or you'd put your memory card into the other. Price $29. Paid R250 from Dixon's at Heathrow. Not sure what you'd pay here but I got the VGA adapter for R279 and it is also $29.

I wonder if it would be worthwhile to take a trip to anal Walk to the Apple shop, maybe they got them there?

If you want to browse without being hassled by the salespeople they come in a little box as opposed to a packet. The VGA connector is in a packet.

Definitely do-able. :) I've got the camera connector kit and an eye-fi card. I prefer the wireless eye-fi but it's fun sticking arbitrary usb devices in to see what works. :)

Excellent, thanks Bwana. I do believe I shall attempt the same :)
