iPhone 11/12 Pro

So not quite what I wanted to do - but I ended up getting an iPhone 13 Pro on contract .

Cost wise, not the best choice, but it is what it is .

There is very little stock of anything
Why did you get an iPhone? Is it a work requirement?

He got the Apple TV 4k and I assume unless you want to use it as a doorstop you need an iPhone.
That would be one expensive Apple TV, but I suspect he'd be fine with his TV without a complementary iPhone. If that's the motivation then he mustn't forget his watch, iPad, Mac, Mac book, etc.

Welcome to the dark side. I made the switch from Android to iOS last year, and so far so good. I will probably not be going back to Android anytime soon. The few little annoyances I had in the beginning has long been forgotten. The integration between the different Apple products is absolutely amazing.

One of my favourite features is that when I go into a meeting, I put "Do not disturb" on, on my watch, and it immediately syncs with my phone and ipad. No interruptions at all until I'm done.

I could write an essay on why ;) but basically iPhone is getting closer to what I need on a phone.

The software / services are also more open than previously, so my TV and Bluetooth speaker support AirPlay. Apple Music has now gone lossless and Dolby Atmos music - and it is available on my Amazon Alexa as well. A few years ago I doubt that most of this could be done. Plus, they're now cheaper than things like the S22 Ultra.

I also bought an Apple TV last week because it offers the best Disney+ experience ...

I feel like a lot of people are beginning to convert (well among people I know), every iOS version gets a tad closer to Android functionality that I wanted in an iPhone, Xs Max brought me in and my 11 Pro Max has been serving me super well, I’m still wondering if I will get a 14 Pro Max or simply wait another year.

Congratulations and enjoy! :)

So Android is very archaic and doesn't do this?

Second freeze in 2 days

The first was Alexa app on a screen just after login when I entered the passwords incorrectly. The second is an unresponsive screen (below) on LinkedIn.

I haven’t modified Android firmware for 8 years - and the same situation here. This is standard iOS 15.5

Thanks!

I think with the Rand the way it is and the dollar price increase, the iPhone 14 is going to be horrendous. From the rumours, I’m going to miss a larger a we sensor on the camera - but otherwise I’m happy with 13.

I’m also seeing people swap recently - and it’s probably a combination of value & the fact that iOS is a lot more open

On Android you'll have to do it on every device: watch, phone, tablet. iOS syncs all 3 with one action.

You can also set focus modes to automatically start based on app usage - so I've set my DND to be on when I'm using MS Teams for example, this way in meetings my phone doesn't chime with email/sms notifications. When screen sharing it won't show private mail notifications etc.

Although - it would be even better if the automation could be set to only be active in calls for ex. and not just when I have MS Teams focused.
