I purchased an iPhone 12 from the iStore about a month ago and noticed that it developed a gap between the screen and the frame; a quick Google search lead me to believe it was a swollen battery. As this is very dangerous I took it into the iStore ASAP and booked it in for repairs with them. I've been told the battery needs replacing which seems simple enough but I keep being told they have no batteries and it's "Coming from Europe".

It's been 2 weeks now and they haven't made any progress, do I have a leg to stand on in terms of S56 of the CPA (right to return in 6 months due to defect)? I would like them to replace it or if not give me a full refund as I am not too happy with the level of service.

Thanks :)

Since it appears to be a manufacturer fault, you are entitled to a new unit according to CPA. Good luck dealing with iStore regarding this though.

They seem to keep pushing "Apple Policy" in my face - not sure if there is a direct contact I can speak to. First time Apple experience is not a great one.

I have had to fight with Core in the past over swollen battery replacements. The device was still under its original warranty, had an extended warranty *and* there was a battery recall in most other countries. Despite all of this it was still a big old fight to get it done under warranty.

Is it just the number off the Apple ZA website? I'd like to contact them and get the ball rolling. Ideally I'd like to get a refund if possible cause this left a sour taste in my mouth.
