These new iPhones do cost more than many people's first cars.

My Xiaomi CC9 has had 5x optical zoom for a year already and I paid R7000 after import duty. The battery still lasts for 2 days and it runs most games perfectly.

I mean I'm glad that somebody is pioneering all of these new ideas and technologies, but to pay 17k just so that I can feel superior to someone with an iPhone X defies logic.

It is a luxury item not meant for the poor and plebs. The relatively well & those who don't mind the debt will buy them by the millions as happens every year.

Debt ? I have always paid cash for my iPhones.

All good and well if you're a recent model's owner. But when you're new you kind'a get screwed. They should have cut prices by the cost of those accessories for all buyers.

If you can afford the phone you can afford the charger. The charger is not expensive and nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing anyone to buy the iPhone. Buy the cheaper alternatives. People love to whinge
