iPhone 12 Rumours & Release Date

A whole lot of nothing really in the article. I could get the same answer as that from the Chat Service on the iStore website. But good that a site at least calls out this BS of a Core Group. Watch 6 and MB are already available.

What is funny is how the Macbook price in SA is so similar to the US prices yet the iPhone is almost double!?
Laughable, right?
Core group is laughable.
Still the question stands... would there be a downside to getting a iPhone from the US?

Those models have millimeter wave but we just dont use it here in SA for now.

Core website says a grey apple product needs to be sent to the main warehouse and cant be serviced in Store. But I mean a iPhone for +-20k vs 30k?

I gave up on core and have placed my order via the US. I usually go contract, but it’s just so much cheaper to buy cash from the US.

Ah, I wonder why everyone assumes Core has control as to when iPhones launch in SA.

They have little to no control, I wouldn't be surprised if the release dates are based on units sold in the previous release window or yearly sales. Ultimately manufacturers concentrate on markets where their products are much more easily consumed in droves. For all we know maybe the total number of iPhones sold in SA is less than one state in the US.

Just my 2 cents. Or maybe for all we know there could have been a delay with ICASA issuing a type approval certificate.

I’d also like to know. Trying to figure out how to get a HomePod mini this side.
Doing a rough calculation the 12 Pro Max 256GB is $1199 about R18700
If one was to pay R2000 for shipping and R3000 on tax it would land at about R23700 vs Core probably R33 000

The tax I am not certain on with phones, only imported laptops thus far and they were 110% of the value 15% Vat.

Which is probably a good few grand less than it’s going to be from the official channels ..
Question is how does one order from Apple, they are all too aware of the drop shipping companies so one can’t redirect a shipment to Aramex global or similar.

I have people abroad buy and send them :)

That way it bypasses SARS too, most of the time.

So the iStore loaded up the Apple branded MagSafe silicone cases and MagSafe wallets. So that’s a sign that they got a shipment recently maybe.

Probably doesn’t mean much so not getting hopes up but at least it’s something new.
Don't go looking for the wallets or the cases at iStores, the staff have no idea what i talked about when i asked for a 12 pro silicone case. said that they don't have the apple cases. Staff are laughably useless.

By what method do they send and how would they label it? I've got people in the UK who could send and I want a 12 mini yesterday already :p

A friend who’s luckily heading over. I’m not too sure how one would go about shipping it here, but I’m sure there is a way.
Why thinking about shipping while those phones are available in the market

Another Friday passes which are the days they either announce pre-orders or releases usually. I really thought today was pre-order day. I ****ing hate their lack of communication.

I just got this k@k SMS today like all the other Fridays.

Dear iStore customer - we thank you for your continued patience. Due to global stock constraints, we are still working hard to secure your iPhone 12 Pro Max and will be in contact as soon as stock is available. If you are no longer interested, please reply NO to this SMS. Regards, The iStore Team
