iPhone 13 discussions

My iPhone 13 Pro dropped to 99% last week. Got the phone since launch October 2021.
I charge it before it goes below 50% whenever I can.

I got mine in Nov 21 I think. Also sitting on 99%. I don't run it down and it goes on the charger every 2nd'ish day.

I would happily recommend the 13 Pro Max to anyone looking for a modern smartphone with flagship specs at a good price.
The 13 Pro Max kind of reminds me of when Nokia made the N95, all the bells and whistles while still getting the fundamentals right and staying relevant for a long time in its time versus competitors.
I would actually say, if someone is looking at a iPhone 14 Plus or 15 Plus they should rather get 13 Pro Max if they can find a brand new one, its should stay supported for as long as those Plus models.

Still happily rocking my 13 pro max

For some reason my 13 Pro’s battery has started taking a hit this week: I don’t make it through a day.

Routine is usually put it on charge before I hop in the shower, then leave it until it’s 100%. Unplug it, and put it on airplane mode when I get into bed (don’t use my device in bed because I have sleep issues). Turn on data when I get up, battery is at around 98%, and with only around 3hrs of screen time, and maybe two short phone calls, I’m at 35-40% by the time I need to charge in the evening. On Tuesday was the first time I’d ever seen my battery go red the day after a charge, though I had around 5hrs screen time somehow.

Far cry from the day and half of not needing to charge. Capacity is only at 86%, so not like it’s dying or anything.

Why don’t you use routines?

Is it worth buying an iPhone 13 new? I need to upgrade my iPhone XR as the updates have now stopped and I don't want to pay R31000 for the new iPhone 17. I just want a phone that will last a while

What would you recommend?

No or rather not at that price.
You can buy a secondhand 13 for 5k and chuck in new batter and then its still half the price.
For R11k you can get a brand new iPhone 14
16e is also just a bit more and if you wait for Black Friday you will probably get the 16e for 11k or less. Even some of the others 14 or 15 might be on special BF

Yeah I will wait for Black Friday and hopefully there's great deals

I have heard some of the Apple products bought from Amazon are fake! Is that true?
That's bull dust.

Bought my Watch SE 3 from them (R150 cheaper than TAL) it's the real deal.

I would have no hesitation buying anything Apple from Amazon ZA.

I'm considering a Mac from them (but trying to talk myself out of it).

Those are 3rd party sellers.

Amazon has Apple (Core) listing products directly
