iPhone 14 discussions

Only hiccup I had was with pairing my watch to the new phone, it kinda failed midway and was still paired to the old phone. Had to reset and erase on the watch and re-add on the new phone.
Yeah, was going to post an update on that. Phone kept saying I need to proceed on watch, but there was no prompt, so did a factory reset of what and set it up that way

So transferring an esim seems to be quite complicated. It doesn’t seems to work. The QR code that I got some time last year also says invalid. Anyone?

There was a whole group of customers moaning and bitching about eSIM issues when I was in the service part of iStore sorting out my trade-in.

I spent about 20 seconds swapping out my physical SIM and continued with life.

I'll be staying away from eSim until I'm forced onto it for my primary sim (as a roaming travel sim I don't mind).

I prefer the other way. Home eSim, roaming physical sim.

If your phone goes faulty while working away or travelling you're a bit buggered as you can't just move your sim to a cheap phone you buy. It's a weakness in the system that can't be resolved.

When I'm abroad I'm not using my home sim so I can sort that out when I return. A physical sim is also much easier to get when I'm travelling.

I keep my home sim in operation, we still get (for now) usage across the EU included in allowance use.

But iphones never go faulty, They just work, if we were talking about android then i would have the same concerns as you.

I got the ESR clear MagSafe case this time, it covers the bottom edge as well.

Until it gets broken on a work site, don't ask me how I know but it's a problem when it does ;)

I assume the battery concern is more to do with iOS 16. I noticed reduced battery life with my 13 Pro Max since updating. Most likely it will be fixed, incl for the 14 PM.

The dynamic island is truly nuts. It has grown on me all day. Such a cool idea.
