iPhone 15 Rumours & Release Date

Honestly, I'm not too impressed with mine's health. I would have liked to see something in the 90s.

My iPhone 15 seems to run hotter than my iPhone 11 ever did - can't help but wonder if that's part of the issue.

93% on 260 cycles on a 15 Pro Max.

Since it dropped below 100%, I’m averaging 17 cycles per percent, basically one percent a month.

So at this rate I will drop below 80% after 2.5 years of ownership, by the time iOS27 launches next year.

This despite an 18w charger and 80% charge limit which I hoped to get me to that 2000 cycles/80% health claim for the 15 series. But at this rate it will hit that at just over 500 cycles.

Hopefully a battery change at the iStore is easy enough next year.

I actually used a 10W charger for the most part with USB-A to USB-c (e.g. no PD) and I'm still at 87% on my iPhone 15. I very seldom fast-charge.

Recently switched to a magsafe charger, so 15w.

Just to come back to this after 8 months with my 15 Pro Max.
80% gets me 6 hours of screen-on-time with 18 hours standby over a 24 hour period. All on Wifi, 5G disabled.

Just an update on my 15PM with iOS26.

80% gets me 6.5 hours screen-on-time over an 18 hour period.
Last 20% with power saver makes it to 8.5 hours SOT over 22 hours.

This despite battery health being 89%. Not bad, will check it again with iOS 27 in a year and see if it needs a battery change.

With 70% battery I've gotten 9.5 hours of screen-on-time which included 5 hours of streaming Dolby Vision Netflix at max brightness.

One battery cycle probably gets me 12.5-13 hours.

My 15PM is now 2 years old and 75% gets me 5 hours and 15 minutes screen-on-time. Same 89% battery health. I miss the iOS17 + new battery days when 70% got me 9.5 hours.

Suddenly I realize why so many people upgrade their iPhones so regularly.

Just charge it to 100% Why are you limiting it? Plus it'll be cheaper to replace the battery

70% battery? Madness just charge it full.

I do charge it to 100%. When I say 75% gets me X, I'm referring to the SOT from 100%->25% for instance.

iOS27 is only 6 months away, then I'll do what I see is recommended - new battery and an ITunes reset via PC with photos restored from the cloud.

This I could never understand. If your phone is still working great and have a few years left in it and you struggle with battery life. Just replace the battery.
Its like R1500 at iStore. You can't buy anything for that and upgrading to a new phone will cost way more for little improvement.

It says it's 89% battery health though, Apple only recommend a replacement at 80%/1000 cycles and this is 89%/466 cycles.

I have my doubts that 11% in BH can be responsible for such a reduction, must be partially due to inefficiencies in iOS26 for older models too.
