iPhone 15 Rumours & Release Date

I agree. I've not babied it or such like, treated it the same as all my other phones.

I’ve followed exactly the same routine with all of my wireless charging phones. Bed time, whether 1% or 99% it’s onto the wireless charger until morning.

Funny thing is, I had my iPhone 8 for just over a year, same routine, same story as now, charge every night regardless, sold it at after the years use at 100% battery health.

Apple dominated the best-selling smartphones list of 2024

2024 was another milestone year for Apple as Cupertino dominated global smartphone shipments. Per the latest Canalys sell-in estimates, Apple had seven of the top-ten most shipped phones of 2024 with the iPhone 15 crowned as the leading device.

Samsung was the only other brand featured in the top-ten chart, with its Galaxy A15, A15 5G and S24 Ultra making the cut.

The iPhone 15 earned an estimated 3% of the 1.22 billion smartphones shipped in 2024. Based on that number, Apple shipped 36.6 million units of its previous-gen base iPhone last year. The iPhone 16 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max were the second and third most shipped phones of 2024.

The sheer volume that they sell the likes of 15 Pro Max and 16 Pro Max at given their prices is truly impressive.
Also yet another year the Plus doesn’t feature in this list much like the Mini previous years.
Interesting that the iPhone 13 is still holding strong at 1.5%.

Would like some advice as I am looking on getting a 15 pro 128/256

Currently have a 12 and getting R7500 from an estimate at iStore battery has dipped passed 80% unfortuately.

Is this a good time to get a 15 pro? How has it been so far?

Warranty as you cannot buy this new from iStore anymore not sure how it works if I buy on takealot or Amazon as there is only stock of it new on these stores.

What about iStore Preowned? Anyone had experience with them and know whether to get the better or is it worth the extra 1000 to spring to the best condition grading?

Battery SOT is important currently get 6-7 hr on my 12 so assuming it should be more

Just replace the battery?

Well I will be damned, the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max continues to get new features. 🥹 😁

Apple confirms Visual Intelligence is coming to iPhone 15 Pro

An Apple spokesperson told Daring Fireball’s John Gruber (via MacMagazine) that a future iOS update will enable Visual Intelligence on iPhone 15 Pro models through the Action Button, just like on the recently announced iPhone 16e. There are no details on when exactly this will happen, but presumably the feature will be added with iOS 18.4.

15 Pro Max update. 156 cycles 288 days. Charge limit 80%. Always using an 18w slow Apple charger.

208 cycles, one year. Charge limit 80%. 97% battery health. 80% charge limit on 18w Apple charger.

Went on holiday for a week and used 100% battery limit plus 30w Apple charger, 3 extra cycles and down to 96% now.

So crazy. 156 cycles and 100%, an extra 55 cycles drops it to 96%...
Yeah no escaping that 3-4 year battery replacement no matter how expensive your phone is.

You’ll get a 1000 cycles plus. My 14 is 87% and 396 cycles after a year and a half.

Just hit 95% on only 216 cycles with it set to 80% max and 14w wired charging for most of its life.

What's your charging situation? Fast charging? Wireless? Do you use wired or wireless Apple Carplay?

My charging situation is a mess, lol. When I drive it is connected to wireless Apple CarPlay but I have it plugged in to the car socket inside the centre console.
Overnight I charge it with the 18W charger that I got with my 11 Pro Max years ago.
During the day I will top it up here and there with my MacBook Air’s charger and when I am at gym usually the cardio machine I use has a wireless charger where I place the phone.

So throughout the day it varies.

I never use that charge limiting feature. I freely let the phone charge to 100% sometimes multiples a day if I forgot to unplug it.
When I am working I like flipping out the kickstand on the phone’s case, putting it in landscape mode and plugging it in so that it activates Standby Mode which shows the Clock and my work Calendar.
