iPhone 3GS

just to put my two cents in:

I'm getting my iphone through my work, which has required me to move over to Nashua Mobile from Cellucity.

I placed my order on 20 August - nothing as yet. They haven't told me what number I am in the queue, but they did say that Nashua get their units from Vodacom, so it seems like they kinda get whatever's left after Vodacom's direct sales have had their fill...hence maybe the 50 units a pop referred to above? :(

getting gatvol and tempted to get a BB...

anyway, I'll keep you posted from my side...

Yip, I am the same, I ordered from Autopage around the same time ... And when I phoned this week it is "still unsure but probably 2-3 weeks away, when I phone next week, guaranteed to be the same ...

I personally like the look of the BB, but not the feel so will probably hold on for a while longer ...
 
I can tell you i have had both (BB and iPhone 3G)- if you are going onto BB BIS, wait for iPhone - its 100 times more user friendly and efficient - you can sync contacts, calendars and all mail (including subfolders with the iPhone but only your exchnage inbox on BB BIS. BES is a different story, but has other pitfalls. Thats why I'm waiting for the 3GS - just sick and tired of no info and feeble excuses.
 
My upgrade has been due since July or something. I'm still waiting for black 3GS in 32GB :(
 
I am waiting for 7 weeks now...

Think i will hold out for the month of October and if there is still no news i will settle for a 3G instead of a 3Gs.
 
Hopefully going to order one this month from Nashua. Has anybody received word on when we can expect to see stock come in? At least I will have time to save a bit.
 
They told me on Friday no word yet so I cancelled my order and ordered a factory unlocked one from Hong Kong which arrives Monday morning!

I can`t wait!

iPhone 32GB 3GS

If anyone interested in a 32GB 3GS (Factory Unlocked) for R9500 let me know asap.

Old man is in Dubai and will tell him to pick one up. Will be arriving here on Sat then we can arrange pickup etc.

Picked up one for myself :) Can't wait!!!!!!!!!
 
I got it on ebay, cost me R6800 with shipping and comes from Hong Kong factory unlocked. It`s a 16GB

I forgot to tell them to mark it at a lower value, I paid R1100 tax.

Theres someone in Durbs on BidorBuy selling the 32Gb for R7900 as well
 
Just remember they could be:

- not factory unlocked but software unlocked (NOT RECOMMENDED)
- 2nd hand

I'm not desperate to sell, just thought I could do some forum members a favour.

Well I am stopping off in Dubai tonight on my way to India for a week, i am going to see what the prices are like in both countries and take it from there ....
I have been waiting AGES for the 3GS 32GB, basically if it is too expensive overseas and we have no ETA when I get back i am just gonna get a BB or more likely N97
 
I suggest to do some phoning around Vodacom stores - some still have. I have just bought a 3GS 16GB from the vodacom shop in Midlands Mall in Pietermaritzburg
 
Even if I can get one from overseas I can't afford the cash price. The pay-in on a new contract of about ~R4200 will have to do, along with waiting in line for it :(
