iPhone 4 free cases

So, did anyone get a free case with their iPhone 4? I asked at the Vodashop I bought it from and they said they don’t know anything about it.

which version firmware is pre loaded on your phone , 16 or 32 GB

did you get yours from vodaworld midrand? There seems to be such a small amount of information out there or my searching skills are not up to scratch.

Can you clarify that the iphone 4 will only be sold on contract? Will this include upgrades? Are the contracts only the talk 1000 and talk 500 or will you be able to pay in for other contracts?
So in other words you can not buy the phone cash at the moment?

iPhone 4's sold out at the moment - wait for the next batch which you should be able to get on pre-paid - price same as for 3GS pre iPhone 4 launch.
 
Thanks adsl3g, I thought as much regarding the sell out. Contract is up for renewal in 2 weeks so it fits perfectly.
 
Our networks don't fade like AT&T so - no probably not.
The guys that got their iPhone 4 are busy playing with it so they won't answer you in a hurry.

Got mine at Vodaworld Sandton Square. Not sure about cash / contract availability. I've got a Talk 130 package.

Just picked up my iPhone and the MTN store I got it from also didn't know about bumper cases. However, there doesn't seem to be any real signal degradation no matter how I hold the phone - don't know if that's because I'm in a good signal area or because the issues have actually been fixed by Apple. Either way, the case is less urgent though I'd probably still want one from a protection point of view.

EDIT: Spoke too soon! Seems I can get the "death grip" issue going, though not the way I hold the phone normally...

Does it actually drop the signal all together or just degrade it?
 
Apple has already ended its free case giveaway, so I wouldn't expect to get a free case from voda or mtn.

Just degrades it - from 5 bars to two, but maintaining a 3G signal all the way. And I haven't noticed any problems at all when actually making calls.

I can confirm a similar experience... 3 bars down to 1, but calling seems not to suffer.
 
read today that the CEO of mtn said that if you go to an istore and show them you iphone they will give you a bumper. Dont know hope its true....
