iphone 4 or galaxy s?

iPhone 4 in my opinion

IOS is simple and easy to use
Apples app store has a better range of apps and more quality apps when compared to Android

I waited a whole year for this:

But on a SA account you cant even BUY games in Apple's Store let alone install them for free....

I am also i same boat.
Galaxy is an obvious choice, but from what i hear with people in the office, iphone 4 battery lasts much longer.

That is because the game need to be given a rating by SA authorities. The games category on the android marketplace will be pulled as well, as it is currently illegal to sell games without that rating

Really? I get 10 days out of my SGS.

Really?
I know of 1 who has a Galaxy S and SE X10 - and they say theirs last 1 day (and with minimum usage, 2 days).
They are gals though.
Is their tips and tricks to get it too last long.
I continously hear of guys on this forum complain abt battery life.

I will start a thread in a couple of weeks as my upgrade time gets closer.

Remember in this link the last points are just for applications, they don't give a head to head score, but if you look at it, it shows that the SGS wins this one.

This was when the phones just came out. I had to make a similar decision to yours.

I chose the Galaxy S because I like to fiddle, but it did take long for the OS update to come to SA where with the iPhone it is immediate. I load custom roms on my phone so this isn't a issue for me.

If I had to choose between them today, I would choose the SGS again. To me the SGS is better in every aspect except for the standard OS update and the variety of gadgets you can buy for the iPhone. With Android receiving all market access from today, I say the SGS has the much bigger edge.

Google market place kinda work diffrent to Apple's

Even Apple them-self said and charge you as a distributor of the software
Google is legally seen as a medium like say the internet they dont take responsibility for the software sold on it.

Wanna see FPB go after the 1000's of developers in person.

Bottom line.

Android in general gives you more bang for your buck.

1. No media sharing on the iphone. Hey hey, bluetooth me that track. you can't.

2. Need to save this presentation somewhere. Wait... How do you do that through itunes again?

3. Can I borrow your charger, pc cable, car charger, hdmi cable. sorry I have a proprietary apple connection.

4. Connect to the internet through your phone. hmm... Where's that cable again.

Yes, there are a lot of tips. My battery last about 6 days, there is a thread dedicated to the SGS that people will give you these kind of information.

But that said, you should consider the DHD too.

Simple. Galaxy.

Take it from a guy who has friends who own both :D lol

Galaxy S or if you are patient enough wait for the Galaxy S2.
By far the better choice...I might be slightly bias as I am a proud owner of a Galaxy S

I have a Galaxy S and my gf has an iphone 4. So I play with both.

- The Galaxy S OLED screen is much brighter. Good if you use your phone outside often.

- iphone 4 screen has a slightly better resolution so text is slightly crispier.

- Galaxy S has a slightly bigger screen

- iphone 4 looks all cool made of glass and aluminium. Most people buy covers for their phone so looks doesn't really count. Especially for the iphone 4 as it has glass on both sides. My gf took off her iphone cover for a few days and got a few small scratches on the back. So now she leaves the cover on.

- Galaxy S is lighter and thinner.

- The Android OS seems much easier to use. No real learning curve. Plus Galaxy S comes with Swype preinstalled. Apple OS was a bit annnoying at first. Didn't know how to do simple things like go back etc. So had to go to home page and end tasks etc.

I prefer the Galaxy S. No need to set up fake accounts with iTunes. Just download what you need and programmes don't have to come through Apple.
