iPhone 4 to arrive mid August

Yip week 34 i think apple quietly fixed the problem anyway try gripping the left corner with your left hand tight covering both black spaces on the naked phone in a setting that has limited signal and tell me if the bars drop significantly. Anyway mine is being shipped lets hope it goes well cool

Currently in a low coverage area. Get 1 (sometimes 2 bars) Optus 3G. Took the phone out the case and held it in my left hand placing the "sweet" spot in my palm. Stayed on 1 bar 3G all the time without even dropping to EDGE (held it for like a minute). So in my case - no affect whatsoever - schweeeeeet!!! :D
 
I see there's a new ad from Vodacom up at the Buccleuch interchange stating that the iphone 4 is "coming soon", whatever that means...

"coming soon" = "just now", which means anything from 5 minutes to infinity. :p

I think it will be end of September.
 
Strange that the pricing wasn't announced yet. From what I remember, pricing for the 3Gs was announced early August last year
 
Mate of mine at Vodacom said that it might be delayed further due to the antenna issues. No idea if true though.

Good old Vodacom, trying to solve the issues that the rest of the world was not able to / has decided to live with...

Are they in talks with Steve to recall the phone and then fix it so the Vodacom subscribers can use it?
 
That Vodacom is delaying the launch due to the antenna issue may actually be true. An iPhone 4 with slighly modified antenna design is apparently on the way but only for release in January in the States (from what I've read).

I think the iphone4 with fixed antenna will be released at the end of September. Most people seem to think so as that's when Apples offer of free cases for iPhones 4 ends. Remember, the cases stop the antenna problem as your hand needs to touch the metal on the bottom left corner directly for the problem to occur (aka death grip)... What remains to be seen is whether Apple release to white iPhone at the same time. Rumours also say they are holding back on the white iPhone (which already has a fixed antenna) until they fix it on the black one and sell all their current black stock. This would also explain why most Apple websites and shops are estimating 3 - 4 weeks for delivery (rather than the usual 1 - 2 days).
 
This whole thing about a "newer" antennae design by September (or even early next year). I'll believe it when I see it!!! No problems with the antennae on my iPhone 4 :D

Maybe not for you but enough people have complained to warren Apple giving free bumper cases to ALL iPhone 4 buyers just to shut them up. You can be sure they wanna fix that ASAP.
 
Signed up for both vodacom and cellucity's pre registration, last time the iphone came out no one from vodacom got back to me...

On cellucity they say end of october... bleh
 
Cellucity also said October to me everyone else September.
