iPhone 5 causes electrocution death, Apple investigates

More importantly, I want to know how to make a phone call that will electrocute the person at the other end.

All the appelites told me the Iphone 5 was a killer phone. Turns out they were right!

On a more serious note. She was only 23 and a flight attendant , so obesity and a non related heart attack unlikely

Probably used a faulty Chinese made after market charger.

Not that "Chinese made" means much.. everything is made there.

Yes! This I want this NoW!

but seriously this is how it went down.

woman talking on her phone... battery dying and so she goes to plug it in while still on the phone ( just out the shower wet hands ) and not paying attention, probably had some dodgy charger and she got zapped at the plug. Anything past the phones chager (the transformer) is not going to do more than tickle.
To truly electrocute you need high ampage going across the heart for a few seconds.

No it only takes milliamps across the heart...

In other news, there's a video on Liveleak of a phone battery exploding at a store, quite interesting.

Apple to look into iPhone 5 electric shock death in China

Not sure if already posted, but...

We have been hearing reports about a woman’s death in China caused by an electric shock while answering a phone call on her iPhone 5. Now Apple has chipped in, saying it will be fully investigating the issue and will be co-operating with the authorities, according to a report from Bloomberg.

The 23-year old flight attendant had purchased her brand new Apple iPhone 5 in the month of December 2012 and the phone with all the in-box accessories has been already handed over to the police by her family.

It has been reported that the family hasn’t asked for any compensation from Apple, and the family only hopes that people will pay attention to the tragic incident. Meanwhile, Apple has passed on its condolences to the family and has promised to investigate the unfortunate accident and see if it’s caused by a faulty device or it was due to improper usage of the smartphone.
