iPhone 5 could sport a thinner design

"Apple seems confident that it’s strong iPhone sales will continue with the release of the new device"...

Well I'm definitely going back to Apple so bring it on.
Screw my Android, I've had enough of ridiculously low quality and badly designed applications, useless battery life, slow UI's, and constant application updates to keep all the bugs out of the bazillion different Android models on the market.
Also can't wait to go back to a Facebook application that doesn't force me to load those stupid image updates when I have a crappy signal, so much for customization. Let the flame-war begin... lol

Can't wait for the new iPhone release :D

Hear hear

Bet that will come with a thinner battery and shorter battery life.

There's an option to switch off automatic updates. Maybe you should look into it?

Thinner I can see a iPhone the size of the iPod touch but as long as they leave the battery alone I guess it will be ok.

Then I will buy the iPhone4 cheaper.

Exactly. Unless the iPhone 5 is going to have some kind of must-have feature I'm going to wait until the iPhone 4 prices hit rock bottom. That way I also don't have to wait until my GalaxyS contract expires

Don't wait to long or the only way you will get one is 2n'd hand.

If the phone size will be the main distinguishing feature, it means apple is running out of innovative ideas.

Why? I always thought mobile smart phone size was a fundamental characteristic. Cramming more into less is on the pinnacle of cutting edge.

I would only agree with you if the phone size is combined with other innovative features. Let's see when the phone is on the market if size or other features will attract buyers.

If the phone does get slimmer (which i doubt) it will always have better specs than prev model. They won't do it unless they can keep the specs.

+1

Proves that iOS users don't like to go into their phone's settings and tweak it to their liking. Everything must "just work"...

Android users FTW

*duuuuuuuuh*
There's nothing in that post I made that even came remotely close to suggesting that automatic updates are my problem.
I was commenting on the state and the frequency of the updates themselves.... arrgh you know. **** it. I'm not about to explain myself. Typical "Android FTW" response. "Oooh but you just don't know how to use it."
Yeah, right.

Yeah, right.

I could wright a whole long reply as to both models having pro's and cons and that it boils down to the individual, but as this thread is about thinner iPhone I wont. All I will say is I enjoy the rapid update system.

As for the battery life I have a feeling its part of the whole Samsung law suites going on as Samsung denied Apple access to the new A9 32nm chips that is mentioned to use up to 75% less power. Well Samsung stated that they will only sell them end of next year to other parties, and I think Apple wants to "bully" them into doing this sooner. I wonder how it will play off.

The problem, for the most part, is that you compare an android retailing for R2000 <-> R3000 to an iPhone retailing at R9k. Hardly a surprise which is "better".

I'm running a Google Nexus S (retail cost R4500) and have converted 2 iPhone users thus far without even trying. Everything you list above is faster on my phone, UI has no lag VS iPhone where I easily notice some lag, battery life is 3 days with 3g turned off (Super AMOLED ftw), iPhone users in the office need to recharge every day. Updates come out every week but it is set to auto update so I only notice that they've been installed (and I'm not naive enough to believe a lack of updates = no bugs, some others it seems are...). I'm not a Facebook addict so I can't comment on that.

Haven't had a single issue with Android 2.3.4, system uptime is about 3 weeks now. Rock solid device IMHO.

What android did you buy exactly?
