Hi,
I need some help in choosing a new cell.
Any suggestions?

You have to give more info. Must it be Apple? How much do you want to spend? Contract or cash purchase? Have you ever used Android?

iPhone 5 > HTC One > S4/Xperia Z

But I place a lot of value on the actual physical feel of the phone and in that respect iPhone and HTC win by miles. Xperia is good but it just feels too big in my hand, something I am sure I could get used to. S4 is horrible, just feels cheap and plasticy.

Next thing is the OS. iOS7 looks fantastic, Android is more customizable. I like iOS because everything just works. It feels much more intuitive and well thought out than Android in that dept.

Hate Apple as a brand, but I'm sorry, iOS just works. HTC One is killer as well, but I believe it dents extremely easily? Not too sure about this.

I am in the same boat actually. My upgrade is due now, but I refuse to get that plastic piece of crap. It might have the best specs, but in everyday use, who will honestly feel it?

I think the question is, iPhone 5, or wait until the 5s?

Personally 3 things I really like about the iPhone 5.
1. It's not too big and fits nicely in my pocket.
2. As said above iOS just works. ie. It's the Nokia 3310 of smartphones. It just does everything well.
3. The battery life. - not sure how this compares in real life to the S4 and others.

The 1 thing I really hate about the iPhone 5.
1. iTunes. This has to be by far the worst PC application of all time. I would rather use MS-Dos.

Thank for the advise.
Its time to Upgrade my contract and was not sure.
I have an Ipad3G+wifi and the iOS is very user friendly
Cell C currently has the best offer
Any ideas how their network is in the Umhlanga/ durban area?

S4 - its just got everything a smart phone should have!! Or wait for Note 3 if you believe bigger is better ;)

You have the right username for an iPhone fan. :D

iOS just works?

I guess that's the phrase the first iSheep came up with when they realised they've been conned and paid three times the money they should have paid for their iphone.

So you say it "just works"? Try this with an iphone : make a phone call with an iPhone if you have not activated it yet. Nope? Doesn't want to ring? So it doesn't just work.

Then put the same sim in any Android phone and make your phone call, without any activation needed.

Now drag and drop a movie from your computer to your iPhone...oops, it doesn't work! You need iTunes. Bummer.

Think I'll just stop here, before embarrassing you too much. ;)

.... and then you drop your phone and realise a new screen will set you back R2500... Except with the S4 - Samsung will fix it for you for free and there can be 2 incidents (water damage and/or broken screen)

Oh... And you'll have the best phone off the 2 you were asking about.

Enjoy your new S4

This is most probably the best argument for getting the Galaxy S4.

But the last straw, and one that got me really mad, was when I saw Apple's return policy - even if your brand new iPhone doesn't work properly and you return it, you won't get a new one, but a "refurbished" one.

And that was why the iPhone 3G was my first and last idevice ever. Never again.
