iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iOS7 unveiled

Apple Inc introduced two new iPhones on Tuesday including the “iPhone 5C” that comes in five colors and starts at $99 with a contract, priced to bring one of the industry’s costliest smartphones within reach of the masses in poorer emerging markets.

It is clear as daylight what hole Apple is trying to plug.

An acknowledgement of the threat posed by Microsoft.

We can see who is really giving the big two (Apple & Google) a run for their money.

My bet is firmly on Microsoft to claw its way back into the consumer technology limelight once again.

OMG you poor man. Apple made the ipods in different colours long before this Nokia garbage. Besides, stick to the topic.

Just chanced across this. The parallels are somewhat eerie imo.

That is quite unfair. The exterior didn't change much but the internals are all pretty much entirely new. It has a dual flash, better camera, 64 bit processor, bigger battery, fingerprint sensor... When you compare that to the change from S3 to S4 there isn't much difference. S4 had the same exterior with a slightly bigger screen, bigger battery, faster processor, better camera and one or two sensors that are pretty useless. Other than when my friends were showing my how cool it was to be able to use your phone sometimes with out touching it (because half the time it didn't register the gesture) I don't think they have enabled and used any of those features since. The eye tracking feature is actually extremely annoying. You glance away from a video for a second and it pauses it. Pretty unnecessary, especially if there is more than one person watching.
