iphone 6 bending defect

Metal is to thin at buttons and there is no underlying backing to strengthen that part of the phone.

Anyway, Please buy one if you don't mind the flaw :)

What makes you think that it's too thin, and that that part of the phone lacks strength? A few videos and posts?

Several articles and videos showing similar devices taking much more strain.

One would have thought for that amount of money, the body would be made of titanium.....

The iPhone 6 did good on Unbox Therapy, the iPhone 6 Plus should be compared to other phablets, made with similar materials. Also, metal sheets have strength ratings.

Yep.
A couple of "bends" in the edge instead of the perfectly rounded end would have doubled the strength.
Shoring on the inside around the buttons going part way down the phone would have doubled the strength with the same look but would have increased manufacture time and cost.
There are several things that could have been done to it (just at a glance) that may have added .4 to 1.5g weight and would have made it much more durable.
I am pretty sure they are scrambling now but by the sounds of the users on this thread it will likely not even be necessary.
People will adjust their usage of the device to prevent bending it and the issue may never be resolved.

I wholly agree that this is an error to be concerned about, made by Apple. On a positive note this may set industry standards applied to these designs. It actually puts Samsung in a good position in order to review their Note 4 thoroughly prior it being marketed and sold to the public.

I am an android user but my opinion on this is purely based on my profession.
Yep, that is why I love the competition :)

AstroTurf isn't coming to the party, perhaps you'd like to?

?

Every day use: People keep their phones in their pockets. Its a reality.
Several sites has reported the problem with the new Iphone over the last day or two. No indepth investigations as of yet. Still too early, but the media loves Apple, so give it time.
Only some sites/videos where loonatics shows how easy it is to bend Iphones compared to other Android flagships that dont bend.

That you cannot substantiate with facts your opinion claiming fact, shows exactly the lost cause and blind faith we're dealing with.

I do not need to substantiate my viewpoint. It has been done in this thread and others. You need to take the blinkers off.

So the Note 4 is set be launched in its home country tomorrow, and only globally in October, the question then, "will it succeed the bend test?”

I also want to see the Samsung Galaxy Alpha going through the bend test.

Nobody has rocked up, worst party ever.

Exactly which blinkers are you referring to?

The only blinkers I see here are ones being worn by yourself, which transmute only a handful of extreme cases into facts about flaws impeding everyday and front pocket use.
