There always seems to be threads created by people who have bought overseas and are having problems with the networks here before its officially launched.

Worth the risk though I'd say as it's bound to be cheaper and it'll work eventually.

Based on just the spec sheet, the Model A1549 (GSM) and Model A1522 (GSM) look like your best bet. The others might work too, but our networks don't usually bring the CDMA-capable models in.

What might be fun to test are the TD-LTE models, Model A1586 and A1524, as they (similar to the iPhone 5s/5) claim to support the band Telkom has rolled out its LTE network in.

LTE is activated by Apple for the networks by some config file, last I remember TM still doesn't have that configuration file.
